Here I am, down with some nasty sinus bug, drinking hot milk with butter, honey and garlic (old country lore recipe, lol) and sweating profusely.:P Too bored to stay in bed all day, even if my head feels like a load of bricks.:/ So I decided to do a meme.:D Found it a few days back at [personal profile] romi's LJ and it didn't seem as hopelessly stupid as most of those question-type things, so...

1. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
Vivaldi. The composer.

2. Where was your first kiss?
In a rented apartment, lol.

3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property?
Not that I recall.;)

4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex?
No.

5. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people?
No. Wouldn't be able to find my voice.

6. What's the first thing you notice about the preferred sex?
Self-confidence, I think. And that special charm that has much more to do with personality than with physical appearance.

7. What really turns you on?
Reading slash.:P

8. What do you order at Starbucks?
Vanilla latte.:)

9. What is your biggest mistake?
Hard to say. There were so many...

10. Ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Physically, no. Mentally, yes.

11. Say something totally random about you.
It bothers me a little, but I am often happiest when I am alone.

12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
Hmmm... let's see. One friend compared me to Geena Davis. And another to Tori Amos (yay!:).

13. Do you still watch kiddy movies or tv shows?
No.

14. Did you have braces?
No. Never had enough money for it - and if I did now, I would rather spend it on something else. My crooked teeth never prevented me from being attractive to some people. And the same goes for some world-famous heart-throbs, like our glorious Mr.Mortensen... lol.

15. Are you comfortable with your height?
Most of the time, yes. Until I have to reach for something from the highest shelf.;)

16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the preferred sex has done for you?
I dunno. Different things come to mind. A bouquet of lovely, dark red roses. A snogging session in a car.;) A beautiful trip to the mountains... and a thousand other moments when I felt appreciated, cared for or desired. Even if they were fleeting, they're still there - and they help me go on...

17. When do you know it's love?
When I still dream of someone, despite not having seen them for two years.

18. Do you speak any other languages?
I speak Polish, English, Russian and Persian - in that order.

19. Have you ever been to a tanning salon?
No.

20. What magazines do you read?
Hardly any, recently. All I am interested in can be found online.:D

21. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
No.

22. Has anyone you were really close with passed away?
Yes. My grandmother.

23. Do you watch MTV?
No. I don't watch TV at all.

24. What's something that really annoys you?
Commercials. Overly helpful salespeople. Anyone who intrudes upon my privacy - like, for example, walking into my room without asking for permission. Grrr.

25. What's something you really like?
Snuggling up in bed with a good book, chatting with a close friend over a cup of tea, listening to quiet music while I'm falling asleep.

26. Do you like Michael Jackson?
Some of his music, yes. Him as a person, no.

27. Can you dance?
I can pretend to - sort of. After at least one drink... lol.

28. What's the latest you have ever stayed up?
Probably six or seven a.m. Back when I used to go to discos and wait for the first morning streetcar to take me home. Not sure I could pull that off now, though. *sigh*

29. Have you ever thought that you were honestly going to die?
Not really. That I would LIKE to die now, yes, many times, but I never actually believed it would happen.

30. Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room?
Luckily, no.

31. Do you actually read these when other people fill them out?
Sometimes - if they're filled out by someone I would like to get to know better.

Vivaldi and Vanilla latte. I would love to share b'day with Vivaldi. And next time I am in a Starbucks I shall get myself a grande Vanilla latte.

and a thousand other moments when I felt appreciated, cared for or desired

That is truly romantic, and also truly romantic of you to keep these moments in your heart!

I am deeply impressed by your language skills, by your ability to be alone, and by the fine person you appear to be. Thank you for posting this meme, sharing a bit of yourself.

Awww, Romi... you are so sweet.:))) I found your answers quite interesting too, btw - and I'll be sure to try Gingerbread latte as well.;)

I like to think of myself as a balanced individual, with a little bit of everything - like Vivaldi's Four Seasons.;) Don't know if that's actually true, and whether I should label myself "selfish" or "self-sufficient"... but that's for others to judge, I guess. Especially for those who came close enough to upset the balance...

Do try the Gingerbread latte. I will try the Vanilla one and tell you what I thought about it. Perhaps, who knows, we will drink one together one day?

Perhaps, who knows, we will drink one together one day?

I sincerely hope it will happen. Btw, I have just learned from my sister that in about 1-2 years she is going to spend some time studying and working in Sweden. So who knows, maybe I'll go see her while she's there... and that would be a great opportunity to see you as well... *crosses fingers*

Why did I come out as anon?
