This week's newsflash:

1) [livejournal.com profile] dissonant_dream, your second postcard has arrived.:) Stratford upon Avon is indeed a beautiful place, and I'd love to go there some day. Preferably with you. *massive squishhh*

2) I have finally purchased the Appaloosa DVD. A pre-viewed copy for $14.99. Had lots of fun watching the extras. The deleted scenes are all good and add more to the story, and I wish they hadn't been deleted. Especially one, where Virgil tells Everett to stay with Allie if he (Virgil) should die first. It just reveals so much about the relationship between these two guys. I mean, most men (especially men in westerns, lol) would tell their best buddy something like: "Look out for her, sure, but she is MY woman, you know". While Virgil basically says: "If I am gone, she's yours". Just... awesome.;P

3) According to my http://www.mint.com account, for the past three months I managed to actually spend less money than I earned. It was a challenge, let me tell you, but apparently it can be done. Not sure what's gonna happen once the federal taxes go back up... but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. There just comes a point where you stop angsting over stuff you can't control, because it doesn't solve anything and only makes you miserable. Feeling angry at some anonymous people possibly responsible for the shitty situation you happen to be in doesn't help either. What does help is focusing on the positives and taking care of yourself as best you can (healthy food, enough sleep, exercise, mental stimulation in the form of a good read or a good movie etc.). That can be a challenge too, but at least one that brings tangible rewards. 'Breathe calmly and put one foot in front of the other' is really the best action plan I have for now, so I am sticking to it. Doesn't sound very ambitious, perhaps, but there you go. As long as I don't need mind-altering substances to help me sleep at night, I am fine. *shrug*

I must watch Appaloosa.

Yes, you must.:) I'm not typically into westerns, but this one is really cool... plus, Viggo & Ed Harris are absolutely priceless together.:D

It's good to be reminded to stop angsting and just breathe and focus and try and live as best we can.

I try to remind myself of this every day. Some days it works better than others, but yeah... TRY is the key word here, LOL.

I'm not a big fan either, but I'll always watch Viggo, so. It's on my list :D

Try, indeed. That's really all we can do. :)
