So, today is the last day of April - the Poetry Month. Which I have totally neglected to mention so far. I just wasn't in the mood for poetry, I guess - until I saw a gorgeous Aragorn manip made by

akashaelfwitch as a "poetry prompt" at the Adult_Viggo Yahoo!Group. It stole my breath away, and ispired me to put into words what I believe an intimate companion of this glorious specimen of mankind might be thinking while watching him take his rest...

BELOVED

so many names they gave you
so many identities
so many paths to tread
and duties to fulfill
within the short span of your mortal existence

and you accomplished it all
becoming who you were born to be
the ruler
the healer
the saviour

yet here, in our bed
stripped of all your appointed glories
you offer me the only one I truly care about:
your naked body
and your passionate heart
still beating fiercely
from the exertions of our fervent embrace

here your only name is beloved
and your only duty
to take what is given freely
and return my eagerness to please
in equal measure

rest now, meleth nin
and worry not
I shall give you a moment of peace
before I demand your attention once more
with my willful mouth
just to see that glorious, carefree smile again
and that soft expression of wonder
the only part of you
that never changed
since you first saw me in the Hall of Fire
as a little boy

You have captured Legolas' voice well, I can picture him looking over at his lover, as he silently contemplates these thoughts...they are bittersweet but full of love...every word spoken from the elf's mouth is one of adoration and devotion.
