my apartment picspam

OK. I FINALLY figured out how to send photos from my phone to my computer - or how to email them to myself, basically (it's SOOO freaking easy, I can't believe it took me that long... *sigh*). So today I'm posting some pics of my new place. They aren't particularly good, sometimes quite blurry... but they're as good as I & my phone can possibly make them, and I couldn't resist anyway.:)

This was taken soon after I moved in. There are still unpacked boxes around, but the new sofa looks nice anyway.:)

The view from the opposite side of the room; the trinkets on the table (and the table itself, lol) are mostly housewarming gifts from my family.

The lovely cherry desk it took my poor father two days to assemble.:D

A closer view of the desk, and the nicely decorated wall behind it (the black&white pics taped to the desk itself are of Lacrimosa - the German goth rock band I'm crazy about ;).

Still closer up - this is what I have on my wall, people! *evil grin*

My beautiful tree, which grows like crazy.:D

The tree again, and a bit of my deliciously comfy papasan chair.:)

The kitchen - you can see the cute old-fashioned cupboard, the antique radiator and the little ladder I use to access the upper shelves of my extremely high kitchen cabinets.

A peek into the bathroom - I guess everyone knows by now what my favorite color is.:D

A portrait of me painted by my father. He used a photo taken in 1999; I'm not that pretty anymore... LOL.

In other news, this weekend is the hottest so far in the Chicago area: the temperature during the day hovers between 30-35C (around 100F, is it?... I'm not sure, since I have set my desktop weather forecast for Celsius). Which is nearly unbearable, as far as I am concerned. So I'm staying inside, praising powers that be for air conditioning. *basks in the cool draft*

And that's all I have to say at the moment.

I never thought I'd be nostalgic for radiators and porcelain bathroom sinks! It looks like a very inviting apartment (love the photo decor around the desk especially!)

Try to stay cool - I listen to WXRT on my PC so I hear the weather up there and Chicago is NOT supposed to be hotter than Texas! Of course all the rain has kept us much cooler than normal for this time of year.

Wow, you have a very cozy and inviting apartment.I could feel myself at home there.I loved your portrait. This is the kind of art I like. And all the Elisa pics you have ( envy !!!!). I particularly love Laying Claim. I made this icon my default for a long time.
Wish you have the best moments of your life in there,my friend.
