C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it".
1. I drink hot tea after every meal. Or, at the least, after every substantial meal. It is the most obvious and natural thing for me and I can't get over my coworkers teasing me about it like it's something weird (I usually respond by saying that drinking tea several times a day is perfectly normal in most countries around the world - EXCEPT the United States, LOL).
2. When I discover some new music that I love, I usually play it ad nauseam for several days/weeks, until I have pretty much memorized it. I can't seem to get enough. Even if I do feel a bit disappointed once the novelty wears off and it starts sounding like something I've been listening to for years.:P
3. I have a deep-seated revulsion towards the advertising industry - in particular, the highly commercialized, consumerist frenzy that seems to surround all American holidays. It has put me off wanting to actually celebrate anything. For example, seeing pink hearts and ribbons EVERYWHERE two weeks BEFORE Valentine's Day simply makes me gag. By the time the actual date rolls around, I'm so sick of it all I just want it to be done and over with. Same goes for Christmas, Thanksgiving, you name it. I feel like it's all being brutally shoved in my face - and my natural reaction is to either totally ignore it, or bitch about it. I think it's significantly more considerate of me to choose the first option.;)
4. I hate money. I hate that everything in our everyday world seems to revolve around it - especially for those of us who don't have enough of it to be able to stop thinking about it all the time. I hate the corruption, inequality and sick power games that money creates. I wish I had the courage to just drop out of the entire evil money-based system and live in a hermit cave somewhere, feeding on roots and berries. But I don't have that courage, obviously, because I am too attached to my simple comforts (like hot water and high-speed internet - to name but a few). Which makes me feel trapped and helpless. And, yes, a coward.
5. I am fascinated by trees/forests. I have this irresistible urge to walk among the trees when I see them. Whenever my parents took me somewhere as a kid, I tended to just wander off into the woods, lol. I was always terribly disappointed when they called me back (once I got totally lost and nearly gave them both a heart attack, but that's another story :P). One of my most frequent recurring dreams includes following a seemingly endless forest path, with a sense of great inner peace, but also excitement and anticipation. Of course, I always wake up before I can discover what the excitement is all about.:)
6. I can read pretty fast, but I don't like to. I prefer to go slowly and savor every sentence. Especially if the reading material in question is worth it. If it isn't, then I'd rather not read it at all. Of course, reading slowly makes me notice all the little, insignificant errors, which sometimes throws me right out of the story - but it also makes me appreciate true language skills all the more. If I really love a book or a fanfic, I will purposely put off devouring it too quickly, because I know I am going to miss it once I am done.
7. Watching porn seems to have lost all its appeal for me. In most cases, I find it boring and/or mildly disgusting. Reading porn is a different story altogether - but only if it's well written. So, summa summarum, I seem to be getting off more on words than anything else... lol. Good example: vampire fiction. Erotic bloodsucking. Under a good writer's hand, the description of it can be terribly sexy. However, actually SEEING blood drip down someone's neck can totally make me nauseous. Same goes for a graphic close-up of someone's genitals - male or female, I might add. In most cases, it's actually a turn-off. Tell me all about the way this person is feeling as s/he is being touched 'down there' - but I don't really need to see all the anatomical detail. Unless they are a fantasy creature (like an elf, for example) and look absolutely perfect. Which can only happen in writing, of course. And let's not, for the moment, try to figure out what that says about me. It's not flattering, I'm sure.:P

Tea after meals.. I must have missed something essential damnit =P
Totally understand the thing with obsessively listening to new music =P (I tend to get stuck on certain songs sometimes and love them crazily; intense lovestories like that which usually end in indifference, wearing them out.)
3,4,6) Oh yeah.
7) lol - Oh yiss madam! I soooo agree on the watching/reading porn+having wordgasms and that graphic-inyourface-sex being quite intimidating/turn-off. Though watching gayporn can work but even that gets.. I dunno, not very descriptive? frankly; quite boring.(this is really interesting, I have to think about it more - the whole porn versus porn issue..)
Oh I forgot; elvish gentials in its own category then =D
This was really fun and interesting to read, I love quirks!! *twirls you*
Wha..? tagged?!! Moi?? *squeeish gulp* OMG I´ve never done one of these meme-thingies!! *g*

Yeah, that.:) You said it better than I ever could.:D

I went through a phase of avidly watching gay porn some months ago... At first it was fascinating - curiosity, you know - finding out the details of HOW two (or more) guys actually do it, LOL. But once I knew what went where, I was kinda more interested in the guys' facial expressions while having sex than in all the other body parts, you know? I think what really turns me on is emotion and a feeling of intimacy - mindless fucking just doesn't cut it anymore. And since most gay porn is about mindless fucking... *shrug*
Not that het porn is any better. And don't even get me started on "lesbian" porn made by (and for) straight guys. You know, those vapid bleached blondes with nine-inch nails and ten-pound boobs, supposedly hot for each other, but mostly just preening for the guy behind the camera. *gags*

LOL!!!

You can list more if you like.;)

I agree with you completely, it gets clinical in a way that words can avoid being. Well, even explicit descriptions of sex I find way much more erotic than staring at a closeup of bodyparts which just don´t succeed describing it the right way no matter what - it´s like being confronted with the whole biology-anatomy-gynecology-part of something that is clearly obviously involving those sides of human nature but doesn´t at all and can´t desribe it anyway - it manages to miss out on both the intimacy AND even the raw sexual side of it.
I really enjoy erotic art in the same sense; if it captures the emotions behind or simply hints at subtext - I mean anything can be erotic or everything can be um.. just nothing special or a turn-off even, since it all comes down to the fact that it´s actually just bodies and just sexuality and in the end quite simple - only the description of it can add that extra something which turns the whole event into something extraordinary (like nakedness is not sexual in itself but can be, depending on the circumstance). Oftentimes I find between-the-lines-eroticism much more seducing and powerful than what is there up in my face.
Porn in that sense is really just soooo simplified that it doesn´t even come close to its own potential - just a visual projection, while I guess eroticism or "written porn" can offer a more multidimensional experience.. When the brain is involved in the seducement it is actually as if actively taking part in the portrayed experience itself in a way that "typical porn" cannot provide.
Facial expressions are really powerful and erotic as hell *gulp*... well and sounds, naturally *whoah!*.
I don´t believe there´s anything in reality like "mindless fucking", it must contain some kind of feelings whether that is power or love or attraction or guilt or whatever, beneath all human coupling there is a feeling of something, even if it´s small or insignificant. To just cut that out is to miss half the fun and I think that´s why I always considered porn to be such a poor representaion in general. It´s clinical in the same way a biology class of how-to-concieve-a-child is. As erotic as an open-heart surgery. Reduced to a body and nothing more, when there´s so much more damnit...
I can´t watch het or OMG!"lesbian" porn.. it´s just too fucking humiliating, I just get pissed off by how people are portayed and of course in particular; women. I get disgusted, while I can manage to squint a little with the gayporn - guess not having to identify with anyone in it helps. (But it´s still dull - can´t even be compared to written erotica.)

Absolutely. It's more about the HOW than the WHAT, really, for me. A fully dressed erotic scene in a movie can be much more sexy - if it's well acted - than a naked one that focuses on the 'mechanics', lol.

YEAH.:D

True. The trick is to be able to convey that feeling, whatever it is. And 'porn stars' aren't usually good enough actors for that.:P

Totally. Same problem here.

Exactly. Gay porn is the only kind I can stand (or I guess I should say "twink porn" - because big hairy guys without clothes on make me want to hurl...:D). But I'd still rather read a good slashy fanfic any day.;)

obsessedfascinated by those moments in movies when everything stopsand my knickers melt in a few nanosecondseven if there´s not much to see, but rather what is not seen - rare but definetely.. ohmygodhot. I can buy a movie just because of one scene of hotness... usually gay-hotness, yeah.Yay! Slash can seduce and arouse in a multisensory way no other erotica can...
big hairy guys without clothes on make me want to hurl hahaha.. yep, hurling is pretty much an option. =D

2) I'm the same with music I like...or if Im in a particular mood to hear something. I will play it to death ;)
3)We have a Thanksgiving? >:D With all the Xmas stuff that goes up after Halloween, I guess I never noticed it...LOL
Hmm perhaps we would not have been friends had I still been working as I was in marketing/advertising. >:D
But I worked for litigation lawyers, so its not exactly the same...
Halloween is still my favorite holiday even
though you see stuff for it in SEPTEMBER! SEPTEMBER!! I know I wish for my bday to be closer to Halloween, but this is ridiculous! It didnt used to be that way...wtf happened? And Xmas is the worst...its like a countdown to doomsday (only 14 shopping days left...tick tick tick) Im so put off by Xmas because of all the preXmas stuff...so much that it totally glosses over Thanksgiving.
5) You secretly are Aragorn reborn, looking for your elf >:D
7) Im the same way! Guess cause we are women we connect more with the emotion/meaning behind it...most guys I know are NOT like that (you've met them can you imagine it? >:D and sadly not even the gay ones think that way (at least not the ones I'm friends with) Seems in their later years, they wanted a 'relationship' instead of living the Brian Kinney vida loca.

I certainly did not mean to imply that I hate everyone who works (or used to work) in advertising/marketing.:) People need to make a living somehow. I just hate the system that forces so many people to spend their time figuring out ways to trick other people into buying stuff they don't need.:P
Xmas is the worst...its like a countdown to doomsday (only 14 shopping days left...tick tick tick)
Yeah. I used to love Christmas as a kid. Now I can barely stand it, and I have American capitalism to thank for that.:|
You secretly are Aragorn reborn, looking for your elf >:D
I really like that interpretation.:D

I was teasing you >:D
and I do agree, I hate the whole shoving it down your throat like they do with geese for pate.
7. I do agree with how reading erotica is much more sensual than watching it. I guess as women we are turned on by emotional connections where as men are more visual? Even the gay friends I have tend to be Brian Kinney's at times >:D
When I write a love scene, I try to make it just that...a love scene...even if its angry make up sex or what have you. The characters have to have a connection to make it work for me. I'm sucha girl >:D

Ive disliked Christmas since it got all commercial...I find myself even more emotionally drained over the holidays than any other time :(

It just seemed so very fitting of you ;)
I hope you find your elf ;)

:) On the other hand, maybe I am secretly an elf, looking for my Aragorn.:P That seems fitting too.:)
