bullet point update :)

Happy Birthday, [personal profile] taelyn_sass! I hope you have a wild one - or a peaceful and relaxing one, whichever you prefer.:D

Thanks for the milk & cookies, [profile] illuins_lair! *munches happily* You are a sweetheart - but then, you know this already. *massive wink*

I was feeling ambitious yesterday afternoon and decided to accomplish at least three different projects: cooking, cleaning and creating more audio tapes for my car player (from some mp3 files I had recently backed up on CD's, in the event of another computer crash). Which ended up with me having dinner at around 11:30 p.m.:/ A new kind of record, I suppose. Not that I never ever eat so late - I do, on occasion; but it's usually just a small bedtime snack, not the chief meal of the day.:P This reminded me why I usually don't plan to clean the place AND prepare next week's work-lunch supply all on the same day. I wouldn't have either - but after recent squirrel visits my room was incredibly filthy, and I knew that next weekend I wasn't going to have time to clean it either, because I absolutely HAVE to go to my parents' house and do laundry (I am running out of clean underwear... lol). See, even if I don't work on Saturdays, I can barely organize myself well enough to take care of all the basics - and if I do, it's just a major time management fail, more often than not.:/ I couldn't possibly work two jobs - or have kids, for that matter. I would probably turn suicidal within a week.;)

Speaking of my parents, though - I talked to them yesterday, and was happy to hear that dad is doing much better thanks to his new anti-seizure medication. The dizziness/vertigo episodes have stopped, and he can drive again! So he went back to work. Not as many hours as before, thank God - but still it's a far cry from the ridiculously low disability pay he was getting while he stayed at home. He still doesn't have the colonoscopy results from his doctor, but the technicians told him they didn't find anything alarming during the procedure, so most likely he will be able to schedule the gallbladder surgery within the next 2-3 months. And after that, hopefully, he will be like new.;)

In other news, I may have discovered another great A/L author: [profile] geale01. Recommended to me by [personal profile] vamp_ress. I just started traipsing around her LJ, checking out some shorter ficlets - and I find that the way she does the Elf & Ranger is very much to my liking.:) She also writes Aragorn/Faramir, if you are so inclined (yes, I'm thinking of you, [personal profile] surreysmum :). Anyway... it's always a delight to see someone still being active/creative in the LOTR slash fandom. Whoever says that this fandom is dead simply lost interest in it, imo.

And, finally, here's the interesting email I just got from Amazon: We've noticed that customers who have purchased or rated Alatriste [NTSC/REGION 1 & 4 DVD. Import-Latin America] have also purchased The Road on DVD. [Ha! What an astute observation, isn't it? ;P] For this reason, you might like to know that The Road will be released on May 25, 2010. You can pre-order yours at a savings of $8.97 by following the link below. Yes, I am one of those valued customers who paid over $50 to have a DVD of Alatriste. Will I pay about $20 (with shipping) for The Road? You bet I will.:D I may grumble about Amazon's intrusive marketing techniques, but they got me this time. Resistance is futile. I sense a Viggo Appreciation Weekend coming up soon.:P

Ohhhh, ahhhh, I just *love* reccing stuff to people. I'm glad you like her stories! And I agree with you. There still is good A/L around, oh yes!

I know! And I trust your recs to always be worthwhile, if not downright amazing.;)

There still is good A/L around, oh yes!

There sure is! *nods vigorously* ;)

oh, what happy, encouraging news about your dad! ♥

So glad you liked the Crunchy and that you´re virtually lactos-tolerant =P *steals cookie-crumbs* (I am working on my sweet side this year it seems.. lol)

Wow.. *imagines you running around* You´re being really organisative, missie. Ambition is the force to work with! It´s either to follow that or Inspirational Force, which oftentimes is mysteriously absent when needed.. =D *admires your multitasking!skillzz* (especially since those are rather non-existant in my own DNA)
And well.. 11.30PM!dinners are very continental and très chic!!!! *hearts*
Damn, it is hard to fit in basic things sometimes, I sooo know what you mean with the constant time management fail. I don´t even see how I would ever fit a job into my life again. Like; omg how am I going to have time to live?? *flailness*

Yay! underwear!!shortage makes a wonderful occasion to walk around buttnekkid and let the wind blow! (Think I´m gonna have to establish that rule at least once a week for me, now when the nasty winterchill is out of the way.) *throws knickers out the window* Weeeii!!!

SO happy that your dad is feeling better! It must be a relief for him that he can drive and work a bit again while waiting for the surgery. Go Dadsy!

Thanks for the recs, I will definetely check out her A/L.
-->LOTR fandom.. dedd?? Hahahhhahahhahhaa!!!!!!!! *rides out on pink unicorn to check out this rumour* It is not this day! *znerk*

Oww.. I wish I could be there on your Viggo Appreciation Weekend! *mutters*

It's the Gemini moon.:D

Um... if you say so.:P

I don´t even see how I would ever fit a job into my life again. Like; omg how am I going to have time to live?? *flailness*

Believe me, I often feel like I don't have time to live. Which is why it secretly infuriates me when my mother suggests that I should find an EXTRA weekend job to make more money (!!!). *spits nasty curses in several languages* ;)

underwear!!shortage makes a wonderful occasion to walk around buttnekkid and let the wind blow!

Ha! Never thought of it that way, LOL.

I will definetely check out her A/L.

Definitely do.:) Oh, and btw, I just accidentally discovered that she's Swedish. What is it with me and Swedish women/fanfic authors?... They seem to invariably fascinate me for some reason.:D

It is not this day! *znerk*

Too true! This day we write! Or was that something else?... LOL

I wish I could be there on your Viggo Appreciation Weekend!

So do I, darling. So do I. *snogs*

Oh honey o´mine - you need to tell your mother that you have to indulge in the task of Living Fully (which usually does´t include too much work and especially not extra_work)
*applies for special!meeting with your mother on this issue*

btw, I just accidentally discovered that she's Swedish. What is it with me and Swedish women/fanfic authors?... They seem to invariably fascinate me for some reason.
WOTTTT???? *sqreeches* I haz a Swedish rival..*gulps*

This day we write! *attaches note with this on computer and then prays*

you need to tell your mother that you have to indulge in the task of Living Fully

Don't forget that in my mother's vocabulary, "indulge" is a Very Bad Word. Unless it comes to food, that is - indulging in food is almost a family duty, lol. It is as if gluttony was the only pleasure/sin that can be excused... I wonder what a shrink would say about that.:D *ponders*

WOTTTT???? *sqreeches* I haz a Swedish rival..*gulps*

OMG LOL!!! You know what MY first reaction was?... Hmmm, welll, maybe I shouldn't tell Marianne - what if the both of them hit it off right away and start chatting in Swedish and all that and I won't be needed anymore!... :D

Seriously though, I should probably mention that my first fascination with a Swedish fanfic writer happened a few years ago. If you've been going through my old LJ entries, you've probably seen the name Romi (or Romika) appear pretty often. Well... she's Swedish, too. And she used to be very prolific in the A/L - V/O fandom (as far as I know though, most of her fiction has been since removed from the net). Her writing resonated with me emotionally in an incredible way, and we became pretty close through my comments to her various fics over the years. We even met in person once, when she visited Chicago for work-related reasons in 2006. And I almost fell in love with her - or rather, I most likely would have, if I had the chance to see her again. But, luckily for me, this did not happen. Luckily, because Romi is happily married and just recently became the mother of triplets.:) So, as you can imagine, she doesn't post much anymore. But I am still a part of the relatively small circle of former fans/friends she keeps updated on her family life when time allows.

So, when I first met you, I was all like OMG another awesome Swedish woman, should I run before I get burned or something???... LOL.

Well... anyway. Just thought this background info might explain things better.;)

This day we write! *attaches note with this on computer and then prays*

*giggles* Babe, it's not so much about the writing, really. I mean, your writing is TEH AWESOME, but I think we have an amazing connection beyond that, which I do not really have with any other of my favorite writers at the moment. There are plenty of awesome people on LJ, but most of them do not have the time or desire to pay half as much attention to me as you do these days.:) So I greatly appreciate you "being there" for me when you can, and I am happy to do the same for you. It's super if you still find the time to write amazing stuff - but I won't value you any less if you don't. You're fascinating even when you blabber about silly stuff in a purely stream-of-consciousness way.;P
