I REALLY, REALLY want to put some printouts of Elisa's manips up on my wall. You know, the most gorgeous and breathtaking A/L stuff like Tender, Vow (my absolute favorite), The Lake and Laying Claim (I am sure any true A/L lover knows what I'm talking about). They came out nicely on my laser printer and are simply BEGGING to be put up in that little corner of the wall next to the window, partially hidden behind my desk.;) I mean, I would see them well enough while sitting here, but they wouldn't necessarily command the immediate attention of everyone walking into the room. Unless it were someone who came expressly with the purpose of having a look at my new place.:D Which is the only purpose anyone would be coming here with in the immediate future.:| I mean, these manips are certainly not explicit, but they leave no doubt whatsoever as to either the gender or the nature of the relationship between the characters depicted on them.;D They are a slasher's blatant Coming Out Statement(TM). Now, if I had an apartment with a bedroom, I wouldn't even hesitate, because visitors don't necessarily need to come into my bedroom and see what's stuck to the wall above my pillows, right?...;P But the thing is, I have a studio. Ergo, my living room, bedroom, study and what-not are one and the same.:D And yes, you can see that little corner of the wall behind my desk right after you open the front door. Come in and have a heart attack, dear visitor?... (if you dare to step in and have a closer look, that is) Not that I anticipate having throngs of people visiting me here on a daily basis; but my parents will certainly come again, and so will my sister and her husband (who, somewhat ironically, happen to be the very people that got me into LOTR in the first place - without the slashy twist, of course, since their main reason for loving Tolkien so much is his devotion to Christian values... LOL). As well as the few friends that I have here in Chicago, none of whom has had a chance to see the place so far. So... what do I do? Do I put them up, or do I chicken out?... Or do I put them up, but then take them down every time someone's supposed to visit?... The printouts might get damaged from constantly removing and reapplying the Scotch tape... lol. Or do I fashion some way to cover up that particular corner of the wall when needed? An Aragorn standee or something?... *chortle* That might still make people blink or smirk - but at least he wouldn't be half-naked, or embracing Legolas in a decidedly more-than-friendly manner.:D

Any suggestions?... Or am I just inventing problems, because obviously no-one gives a damn what's on my wall, and they all know I'm weird anyway?...;P

In other news, I'm meeting akashaelfwitch and her roommate from Ohio for dinner tonight, since they are in Chicago for the weekend. And tomorrow is the big Easter family thing at my parents' house, consisting mainly of stuffing ourselves sick with hard-boiled eggs and other heavy holiday fare.:) So, an unusually busy weekend for me (yes, that was supposed to sound sarcastic; because normally I just stuff myself with food in front of my computer screen :D). In fact, I'd better go and clean the place up a bit, in case Akasha&Co. want to drop in after dinner. At least I don't have to worry about hiding the evidence of my Sinful Obsession from HER... lol. *scurries off, fingers itching for the Scotch tape* ;D

EDIT: I did it. I put the manips up on the wall. They look BEAUTIFUL. And I honestly don't care who sees them or what they think.:P It's MY place, after all.

EDIT 2: Akasha was here for a quick look around, and she seemed very pleased with my decorative flair.;) She had some suggestions as to where else I can put up some Viggo pictures and stuff.:D Oh, and she gave me an anthology of lesbian vampire stories as a late birthday present. Mmmmm... nice. *licks fangs* Whatever shall I read now? A/L, V/O, gay vampire porn or lesbian vampire porn?... So much yumminess, so little time. *sigh* ;P

EDIT 3: I have this overwhelming urge to watch LOTR again. NOW. OMG Aragorn. I think I need to drool and swoon a little. Isn't it just sweet and refreshing that I can STILL feel like a lovesick teenager?...:D

I've had manips, both ones I've done myself and favorites from other people, up on my bedroom walls since about a month after I moved in. My place. My choice of art. So there. At last count there are 17 pics.

Of course there was the one day I had a telephone repair guy come and completely forgot he would need to check the phone jack in my bedroom...

*evil grin*

He was fairly cool about it, just kept his eyes lowered a lot, LOL. I laughed myself silly over it after he left.

You're absolutely right - one of the great perks of having your own place is you can put anything you want up to look at! And those manips would certainly make me happy to see every day. So good for you!
