a cool meme

Snagged from [personal profile] stormatdusk:

Comment and I'll--
1 - Tell you why I friended you.
2 - Associate you with something. A fandom, a song, a colour, a piece of fruit. SOMETHING.
3 - Tell you something I like about you.
4 - Tell you a memory I have of you.
5 - Associate you with a character/pairing.
6 - Ask something I've always wanted to know about you. (Or else I'll just ask a random question. I reserve that right.)
7 - Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
8 - In return, you must spread this disease in your LJ.

Your wish is my command.:)

1) Heh. I don't remember how you got on my flist either. I'm just glad you're on it.:)

2) Geek!Orlando, obviously, and your unique way of writing stuff that's hysterically funny and very sexy at the same time.:D

3) Your sense of humor (see above). Your romantic soul (which is one of the things we have in common). And you also seem to be a very warm-hearted, generous person.

4) Your lovely feedback for some of my stories. Especially the comment where you said yum, and mmmmm, and rowr . Such eloquent praise is hard to forget.:P

5) V/O, obviously. And lately A/L, too.:)

6) Do you ever have 'Mary-Sue-ish' fantasies about Viggo and/or Orlando, or are you perfectly content with the role of silent observer?...;P

7) The Geek!Orlando ones. The toaster of doom, and 'just had teh sex'.:D

eloquent praise *snickers* but y'know, sometimes it fits! and sometimes good stuff makes me less than eloquent!

viggo, bean, karl - yes. and have been in a bad bean place since i started writing a year ago, so my het fics are all about bean, i think, so far. orlando - no; he is for the boys only, in my brain. he's beautiful, but theirs, to me. :)

been in a bad bean place

Heh. A nice way to put it.;)

For me it's only Viggo, I'm afraid. And basically I'm a Viggorli addict, so I will read Viggorlibean on occasion, but not Orlibean or Vigbean.;) And het is out of the question.:P

orlando - no; he is for the boys only, in my brain

Ditto on that.:D

May I participate...? :o)

Hmmm... I think you may.;D Even though questions 7 & 8 do not apply.;)

1) Oh, come on. You KNOW the story.:D

2) Loyalty. Not faithfulness, but loyalty to the people you care about. There is a difference, and it probably explains why you're still here.;)

3) Ermmm... where do I start??? :P

4) See above.;) But some of my favorite ones include a seedy underground dance club... and my car, for some reason.;P

5) Well... Lestat, obviously.:D

6) Are you happy?

And, on a side note, can you give me your email address again?... Since I lost access to my Yahoo mail, I lost that too. If you don't want to post it here, drop me a line at ismena36@comcast.net.

4)That's funny: "the car memory" is one of my favourites, too :o)
6) It seems a simple question but the answer is complicated....

I'd love to hear you do this thing on me but don't do it please if I have to repost in my journal... I do not have the imagination you have. Hugs!

Ahem. I hereby reserve the right to release you from the obligation of reposting this meme.:D

As for not having the imagination I have... I would say it's exactly the other way round, and there's plenty of very imaginative fiction available to prove it. But I am not inclined to argue, and hence I shall simply fulfill your wish.;)

1) I don't remember exactly, but it must have been through your writing. Around the time of Dinner in TriBeCa, probably.

2) The hottest, most romantic A/L and V/O on the planet.

3) Your sensitivity. Your inquisitive mind. Your passion for writing, and your ability to 'see below the surface', to appreciate and enjoy the simple things in life that most people take for granted.

4) Sitting across from you in that nice cafe at the Art Institute, amazed at how attentively you listened to my disjointed ramblings.;)

5) See point 2.:)

6) Did you write any fiction before you joined the fandom? Did you always know writing was something you wanted to do, or was LOTR your first inspiration? And if so, was it the books or the movies?

7) Well, right now you only have one that I can see.:) But it is very sweet.;)

OK. So much for now. I hope you're satisified with my answers.:D

Thank you very much for these kind and most interesting answers. This line

to appreciate and enjoy the simple things in life that most people take for granted

was so amazing to read that I have been thinking about it over and over. I hope you are right. I know that the opposite is true, I care (too much sometimes) about small things that most people ignore or shrug their shoulders over. That can be both good and bad. But to be able to enjoy small things in life is a gift and I do hope you are right that I possess it.

amazed at how attentively you listened to my disjointed ramblings

People are very, very interesting to me. I am very glad I have met you and I do hope we'll meet again!

Your questions:

Did you write any fiction before you joined the fandom?
When I was a teenager I wrote some slash, long before I knew about the concept. I even wrote mpreg! All in all I think I wrote the equivalent of 50 pages. And oh yeah, now that I think of it, I have written more slash: when I was in my early twenties I had another brief period of writing slash. Though it shall never be revealed who I slashified *laughs*

Did you always know writing was something you wanted to do, or was LOTR your first inspiration?

I have really loved writing since I was a little girl capable of doing it. But it was not until I met a strong fandom and my two beta-readers that I felt that my writing really took off to become something better than just private scribbling. I owe the beta readers, the "instant commenting system" and of course the people who read my fiction, so much.

And if so, was it the books or the movies?

For the LotR fandom it was the movies that inspired the fiction. I have been reading the books over and over, looking for ideas and scenes, but never has anything inspired me more than the movies.

Thank you for taking time and writing your replies! ♥

Thank YOU for answering my questions.:) I find it quite interesting that you wrote slash 'before you knew about the concept'. I don't think it ever ocurred to me I might be 'into' m/m erotica before I encountered it in books (Mary Renault, Anne Rice). And even then, at first I thought I just 'tolerated it' because the books in question were so well written. *shakes head, chuckling at the amounts of bad m/m porn she has read since then* ;P

But I did write fanfic before I knew the concept. Well, sort of. As a teenager, I made my favorite actor the hero of my Mary-Sue-ish scribblings...;) And then, some years later, I penned some even more embarrassing Mary-Sue-ish scribblings about Sinead O'Connor.:P

Hah. Better late than never.:P Here you go:

1) Is it strange that I don't remember?... I seem to recall us getting the same result on a series of personality quizzes some time ago - so maybe that was why?... Do YOU know?... *wink*

2) One of my favorite movies. You know which one.:D

3) Your open-mindedness, your sharp intellect and your passion for life.

4) The lovely phone conversation we had a few months ago...

5) Well... that's kinda obvious, isn't it?...;P

6) Are you a top or a bottom? :P :P :P

7) The most recent/indecent one.:D

OK. I guess that's it. *smooooooooooches back till Michael gets jealous* ;P
