another meme, for heaven's sake

floatingleafApparently, it's been way too long since I've done a meme.:P
I've stolen this one frommellacita - but I took a very free approach and modified it quite a bit, combining two different versions and skipping any questions that I didn't like/found too trivial or irrelevant/didn't want to answer for whatever reason etc. After all, this is supposed to be fun, not a chore.:D
So... here goes.
THREE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE MY PERSONALITY:
1) thinker (as opposed to "doer", apparently)
2) recluse
3) introvert
THREE THINGS THAT SCARE ME:
1) life (I know, LOL)
2) public performances (including talking to a group any larger than 5 people at a time)
3) heights
THREE THINGS I DON'T UNDERSTAND:
1) finances
2) competition (in any area, really; just a foreign concept to me, I'm afraid)
3) getting a kick out of someone else's misery
THREE BAD THINGS ABOUT MY PERSONALITY:
1) excessive shyness
2) lack of willpower
3) overthinking everything to death
THREE GOOD THINGS ABOUT MY PERSONALITY (this wasn't in the original meme, but I think it SHOULD be ;):
1) brains, LOL
2) open-mindedness and curiosity
3) empathy and kindness (not always apparent, because sometimes I have problems with expressing what I feel, due to point 1 under BAD THINGS - but let's disregard that for the moment)
THREE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT MY BODY:
1) my hair (when it behaves!)
2) my boobs, lol (I know I've mentioned this before, and it's kind of ridiculous, but I really spent most of my life feeling terribly self-conscious about the lack of chest protrusion, so to speak; therefore now, while nearing the age of 40, I am oficially ecstatic about the fact that I've acumulated almost enough breast mass to fill a B-cup...)
3) my hands and feet
THREE THINGS I DISLIKE ABOUT MY BODY:
1) the fact that it's not getting younger :P
2) my little potbelly (always there, no matter how much weight I drop)
3) my flabby thighs
THREE THINGS I WANT VERY BADLY AT THE MOMENT:
1) unlimited time to read and write
2) for the weather to stay EXACTLY the way it is right now
3) for the clock to stop so I can finish this meme and STILL get a decent amount of sleep tonight, lol

1) trust

3) mutual respect and understanding

1) BRAINS, lol
2) honesty and lack of pretense
3) willingness to make the first move :P
THREE FAVORITE HOBBIES:
1) reading
2) writing
3) watching movies
THREE CAREERS I'VE CONSIDERED:
1) writing fiction (a childhood fantasy that faded as soon as I realized I can never get past the first few pages, lol)
2) art (drawing/painting etc. - again, that didn't survive high school; it runs in the family, but my sister is the one who does it professionally now, and I think I stopped as soon as I realized she was much better)
3) professional literary translation (that one is still being considered, so to speak)
THREE PLACES I WANT TO GO ON VACATION:
1) Greece (because I've only been there twice, and a part of my soul has lived there since antiquity)
2) Ireland
3) New Zealand
THREE WAYS I AM A STEREOTYPICAL WOMAN:
1) I don't understand the appeal of team sports ;)
2) I cry over the plight of fictional characters
3) I always carry a purse that matches my outfit
THREE WAYS I AM NOT A STEREOTYPICAL WOMAN:
1) I HATE high-heeled shoes
2) I don't wear much makeup
2) I don't get a kick out of spreading mean gossip about other women behind their backs ;)
