you´re very responsive and that can be interpreted both as just a funny online-game or as really serious intentions. It´s all about blurred borders for me and I guess this is me having RL/LJ!doubts about what´s really happening between us. Like; I don´t want to be in anyone´s way of more important things or something, I suppose.

Oh, I know. I have the same doubts every time I feel some really valid mental connection developing between me and someone else on LJ. It's happened several times, and those several times have taught me to be cautious in assuming too much, so to speak. In other words, just because I have a great dialog with someone doesn't necessarily mean they can't suddenly disappear for weeks/months/years without a word of explanation (which is something a "real life" friend wouldn't do, I suppose - or if they did, would they still be considered a friend?... *ponders*). On the other hand, I can't expect everyone to just take my word for a guarantee that the only possible circumstances in which I might disappear like that would be if my computer broke down (happened last summer - I couldn't access LJ for two weeks), or if I had serious connection issues (someone cut off my internet cables once - again, no access for about two weeks). Like you said, some people want to keep a distance - but if I say that there's a lot going on in RL at the moment and I might have less time for LJ, that's precisely what it means. No more, no less. It's not some veiled way to communicate my desire to create distance, or something. At least not when it comes to you.:D It's more an expression of regret, as in: Shit, I can't stay up all night replying to your comments, because I have to be relatively conscious at work tomorrow - not fair!!! LOL

As for "more important things" - friendships/relationships were always THE most important aspect of life for me, regardless of the means of maintaining said relationships (whether in person or through writing - and I've always had "pen pals", even long before internet). Other things, like work and money, are simply "necessary evils" in my perception.:P
