OHH MY GAWD. I finally got my hands on the extended LOTR DVDs. And however unbelievable it may seem to anyone interested, I had never seen them before. I mean all the appendices and stuff. I only saw the extended versions of the movies themselves, but probably just once, when my sister first bought them a long time ago. And certainly I didn't remember some of the finest Aragorn moments.;) As for the additional footage, I had no slightest idea it was that amazing (or I would have done something to get it sooner, lol). So now it all killed me ten times over. I'm dead. I'm in heaven. All the headbutting, rugbytackling, toe-breaking, tooth-breaking, sword-brandishing and hair-tossing just did me in.;) Not to mention the silly antics with Bernard Hill. Or the gracious comments on Dom's theory about Viggo's attraction to bearded women.;) (or to his horse, for that matter) Or the seemingly innocent (hehe:))) remark about Orlando's "flawless elven complexion". Or the priceless heroic moment in The Two Towers when he manages not to spit out Eowyn's stew. Or... Well, I could go on. And on. And on. But suffice it to say that I adore the man to pieces. Hell, I adore everyone in those movies. But if anyone had told me three years ago that I would become this obsessed, I wouldn't have believed it. And if they had told me I would be avidly reading Aragorn/Legolas or Viggo/Orlando slash every day, I would have laughed and said they had lost their mind. But I guess that's life. Things happen to people.;)) And every once in a while I somehow manage to surprise myself (which is to put it very mildly in this case, as some people would know). Oh well... saves me from the inevitable boredom of predictability, I guess...

It's so lovely to see somene's fresh view of the extended versions! Debra & I watch them over and over, especially the cast commentaries which we find endlessly entertaining. Just so you can get ready, the Extended version of Return of the King comes out December 7th!

Oh, and I meant to say one of my personal favorite things is when Dom does his imitation of John Rhys Davies ordering the food!
