My Gospel According to Harry has arrived. And yeah... it's definitely the weirdest movie I have ever seen. Believe it or not, but even Reflecting Skin seems almost normal in comparison, lol. The Gospel is not only highly "artistic", vaguely philosophical, gloomy and depressing, but also hilariously funny in a surrealistic, absurd, Monty Pythonesque kind of way. I don't recommend it to anyone who hasn't scored high as Mindfuck or Sadistic Humor on the movie quiz.;) (which I have, btw) What's more, it's totally anti-American, which in itself amuses me to no end. And I love Viggo even more for playing in it. So in keeping with his political outlook, lol. Anyone who resented him for doing Hidalgo should see that one. Honest.
As for other news, I didn't manage to read half of the fics nominated for Slashy Oscars, but I voted anyway.;P Even if I had read only one in a given category. Which isn't probably the right way to vote... or maybe it is.;) And yeah, I admit to being partial - which means I read mainly Viggorli, with an occasional dash of other pairings (or threesomes, like VigOrliBean for example... but shhhh, that's a dirty secret, really ;D). So of course that was reflected in my votes - which doesn't mean that I consider writers who prefer other pairings less talented or anything. I'm just chosing my favorites based on emotional preference, so to speak...
And I just have to say how glad I am to have dicovered some great stories and authors in the process. Notably,
legomyarrow. Somehow I haven't read anything by her before, and she seems quite prolific. The same can be said of
jasmineskie. Or
katlinn, for that matter (I LOVED "Cowboys and Horses", btw, even if I voted for another story). So I have lots of fantastic reading material for long weeks to come...
