1) Why did you choose "namarie" as your LJ identity? Why not some other Elvish word? :P

I've been a Tolkien geek since I was 12 or 13 and read the trilogy for the first time. Namarie is a combination of my first and middle names, and when I read it the first time as a pre-teen, I was sure it was my name in Elvish! So when I discovered Yahoo groups and LJ a few years ago, and had to come up with a screen name, it was a natural choice. Someone else had already claimed the name by itself, so I added the 120 which (more proof of my geekiness) is the year in the Fourth Age that Aragorn dies. (*sigh*)

2) What is your job? and is it something you like to do?

I am a senior project manager in the IT department of a large financial services company. I manage a group of other project managers and support personnel and, depending on the projects we're working on, travel a fair amount to our various offices and vendors. I enjoy the work itself, though the corporate politics set my teeth on edge (I am so *not* a game player that way!)

3) Does anyone outside of LJ and Yahoo!Groups know about your fascination with slash?

God, I hope not! Actually, my husband knows, though he's not very thrilled by it, and I think my children (who are fortunately both "adult" - 19 and 20) know as well, though they may not have actually read anything I've written the way my husband has. Actually my daughter thinks it's pretty cool that I have an LJ and write fanfic, and I know she's written some (very mild) anime and video-game based slash herself, so she wouldn't be shocked, except maybe at how explicit I can get (because of course children can never imagine their parents as sexual beings!)

4) What is your favorite pastime - other than reading and writing? ;)

You mean there is anything else? *g* Actually, I love to travel and explore new places, and I enjoy cooking and baking. I used to do a lot of crafts and needlepoint at one time, but that's before I discovered the Internet...

5) Have you ever travelled outside of the US - and if so, what place did you like best?

Do Canada and Mexico count? I've been to both several times, but outside North America, my husband and I went to Ireland and England on our honeymoon, and I spent a week in Paris several years ago for a conference - I was able to bring my family along to so we could spend a few extra days sightseeing. I loved both, but if I had to pick one I'd say Paris - everything about it was a magical experience.
