OMG it is FINALLY done. I left. I couldn't stand the waiting anymore, so I emailed my supervisor this morning (yes, it was easier for me to spend a half hour composing an email than to actually walk up to her desk and start a conversation; surprised, anyone?...). Right on time, it seems, for as soon as I hit "send", it turned out the boss was going to talk to me anyway. To cut a long story short, my production rate had improved slightly over the last two weeks, but was STILL far behind the rest of the team - so they would have to terminate me anyway... unless I preferred the official version to be that I had "terminated myself" and given a proper two weeks' notice. Which I did. That means, of course, that I don't qualify for unemployment insurance - but that's fine. I still have over $15,000 in the bank, so I was actually more worried about how the fact of having been fired might influence my chances with future employers...

Anyway... I'm almost ashamed of the profound relief I feel right now, as well as of the deep and abiding joy derived from the prospect of SLEEPING IN tomorrow.:D Yeah, I know... my mother would be so utterly scandalized. OMGyouhavenojob, howcanyoubehappy, youshouldrunaroundlikecrazytearingyourhairout. Or something like that. But fortunately I am NOT my mother (thank heavens for that, LOL). And I am not going to stop enjoying life's simple pleasures and drown in guilt just because I had to quit a stupid job, thank you very much. I am going to read some slash and go to bed dreaming nice and lovely dreams... then wake up refreshed and well-rested, take a long, hot bath and start a new life with a positive attitude. How's that?

Actually, now that the tension/excitement is wearing off, I feel totally drained and uber-drowsy.;)Good night, everyone.:)

I'm glad you're no longer stressed - and that you can afford to take the time to find a job that you can enjoy!

I am relieved to hear that you are relieved. It has been very hard for you this job! And even if you have improved... still it didn't work out... well, now you're out of there.

I hope you wake up and feel more refreshed.
Enjoy your free day now!
Hugs

I'm glad for you its over. That place seems like a work place one should run, not walk away from.

But whet a bad way to get you to resign yourself so you won't get insurance! (Hates company)!

Take your time to relax and get yourself back together, and then I wish you the best for finding a new job, and hopefully this time one that suits you better!

Yes, yes, yes!!!!
This is the attitude, Baby!!!!!

Ahh, I'm so glad you see things this way now! My experience is that your mum's attitude (and it would have been my mum's too, of course) is what makes you feel guilty and makes you perceive leaving the job as a kind of failure, but, Hon, believe in yourself: it is not!!

Quite the opposite: I say, enjoy this time of freedom and rest (so happy 4 you that you've allowed yourself to go out and enjoy Haven, I can't wait 4 it to get to the UK!!), and then set off with renewed energy to look for something that really makes you feel good and on top of things.

*dances around celebrating your new start*
