Well, it seems this is another Viggo Adoration Week for me. I just got The Passion of Darkly Noon from Amazon, as well as Vanishing Point and Salvation from antisoshal. Yes. Vanishing Point. I wanted that movie so badly, because I knew he played the lead in it... but still had no idea it would be as wonderful as it is. It made me laugh and cry and bite my nails and gasp in pure delight and just dissolve into a happy puddle. Even though I know that the story itself is quite cheesy on some level, and even though the adored wife for whom our hero constantly puts himself in mortal danger is played by one of the blandest blondes I have ever seen. What the hell does it matter, I ask? Just imagine young, gorgeous Viggo driving at 200 mph, day or night, no food, no rest and no regard whatsoever for the police, FBI and what not chasing him across the country - just to be by your side when you need him. Now ain't that quite overwhelming??? Well yeah. It is. I simply ADORE this movie, and I intend to watch it over and over, until I know it by heart - and then some more. Just like The Indian Runner. Or American Yakuza - another absolute favorite that I love more and more each time, just for the sweet loyal hero that he is...

Anyway. Darkly Noon is just as weird as I expected, and not as good as The Reflecting Skin (which, I decided after seeing it one or two more times - all of it, not just the "Viggo parts";) -is a masterpiece). Still, interesting enough. I didn't like Brendan Fraser, though. He was annoying. Even if that's how he was supposed to be - I just didn't like him. But I liked Ashley Judd. She was very good. And Viggo... well, he was just Viggo. As perfectly natural as ever. Tons of that easy, calm, effortless charm he exudes, especially when he is all rugged, blond and unshaved. Mmmmmmm... Viggo the true Viking.;) Proven to cause hormonal reactions of a quite dangerous intensity. And all the snogging, cuddling and tumbling around with Ashley... just delicious. I wish there was more.....

Oh well. I guess I got just a little carried away (so what's new, LOL). As for Salvation, the movie is rather silly, but Viggo saves it from being total crap by shamelessly mocking his own creepy character. He can be really funny if he wants to. Or is it just me? Just totally and helplessly in love, no matter what he looks like or what he does? Well, hell, maybe. I don't really know any more. Whatever...
