floatingleaf: (explosion)
I'm not much into this whole Valentine business, but I have been surprised by two lovely gestures from LJ-friends today - so I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks:

- to [livejournal.com profile] eliriel1 for the touchingly warm e-card (not sure if I've actually done anything to deserve it, but it made me happy anyway!),

- to the Sweet Anonymous Rose Giver (I have a pretty good idea who you are - but maybe I shouldn't voice it, just in case I happen to be wrong...;).

Also, I know the perfect lyrics to post on Valentine's Day: Vision by Peter Hammill, one of the most beautiful love songs I have ever heard (there might be slight inaccuracies, since I'm going to type this from memory; I never actually saw these lyrics in print). I'm not dedicating them to anyone in particular, because I have never met my other half (though I might have thought so once, for a split second). Instead, I am dedicating them to everyone who appreciates love and beauty. Happy Valentines, Dear Flist!!! :)

I have a vision of you locked inside my head
It creeps upon my mind and warms me in my bed
A vision shimmering, shifting, moving in false firelight
A vision of a vision, protecting me from fear at night
As the seasons roll on, and my love stays strong

I don't know where you end, and where it is that I begin
I simply open my mind and the memories flood on in
I remember waking up with your arms around me
I remember losing myself and finding that you found me
As the seasons roll on, and my love stays strong

Be my child, be my lover, swallow me up in your fireglow
Take my tongue(?), take my torment, take my hand and don't let go
Oh, let me live in your life, for you make it all seem to matter
Let me die in your arms, so the vision may never shatter
As the seasons roll on, and my love stays strong

Peter Hammill

What else? I registered at another employment agency today and did some more Word/Excel/data entry testing. As well as learned there was an open position very close to where I live... except they required 9000 keystrokes per hour, and I scored about 6000.:/ Oh well. Not this time... *sigh*

By the way - can anyone really type that fast? Without making mistakes, I mean. I think it's inhuman. Maybe they should specify they're looking for an android. Or maybe I'm just too slow for todays's job market... lol.

Anyway... enough about that. It's been a beautiful, sunny day today, almost too warm to wear a coat, and I could feel the breath of spring in the air... May it come soon.:)

EDIT: Another thank you for a sweet and funny e-card that made me blush... [livejournal.com profile] namarie120 - you are a treasure. *hugs very, very tight* <333 :D
