Jun. 4th, 2006 10:55 pmSo I had a nice chat yesterday with my sister, who gave me a comprehensive lecture on the merits of downloading music from the net.:) Yes, I had been living in the dark ages and didn't actually realize it was THAT easy... as well as that cheap. And, most importantly, I somehow assumed that the stuff available for download would be pretty mainstream - more or less what gets played on the popular radio stations or MTV. I didn't think it was actually possible to find some obscure treasures that only I and maybe 50 other people on Earth might be interested in.:P Well, my sister told me at length how very wrong I was (she likes obscure music too - just of a slightly noisier kind ;). So I came back home all excited and almost ready to start shopping for an iPod... only to find that none of the MP3 websites she recommended would actually accept my debit card. I tried a good number of times and I'm absolutely sure I had entered all the info correctly. WTF??? I had no trouble using the very same card to order stuff from Amazon and other websites. I know there is a lot more than enough money on it. Yet, I kept getting the message "Your payment was not accepted".
Well. Let them stuff it. In frustration, I went right over and spent 80 bucks on CDs at Amazon. Yeah. Call me crazy. I just had this overwhelming urge to acquire new music... even though I had already made at least two orders within the last few weeks (one of which hasn't yet arrived). So yeah, I definitely need a cheaper way to feed this passion... *sigh*
