Again, the weekend went way too fast for my liking... but at least it was kind of productive, as weekends go. Yesterday, I did a big load of laundry in addition to the grocery shopping, as well as watched a movie (on streaming!... yay!... I can watch movies directly online through the Netflix website again!... and the picture quality is perfectly smooth, with no stops and starts!... I LOVE my new PC!!!...:D). Today, I went on a quest for new shoes, because my favorite pair of black sandals - actually, make it my ONLY relatively comfortable pair of black sandals - has started coming apart at the seams. So it was an urgent mission, lol. I wear black a lot, especially to work - I have this gorgeous, flowing, Gypsy-style black skirt, bought a few months ago, that I wear at least twice a week. So I need stylish black sandals to go with it. And I have an old pair, which is still in very good condition, as well as very pretty - but, for the life of me, I cannot walk in them.:/ Not any more. I could, perhaps, wear them to a party, provided I was planning on sitting in a chair with my legs crossed, sipping a drink the entire time.;) For everyday walking to the bus stop, I need shoes that don't transform every step into a study of pain.:/ And I think I found some (I won't be 100% sure until after I've worn them for at least a few hours...). For a reasonable price, too. And while I was at it, I also found two nice tops (a lacy black one, perfect for work, and a very casual "faded" olive green one for the weekends), a cute cardigan (also in olive green - I love that color) and a pretty tribal-style necklace (a set of wooden and/or bone disks in shades of brown/beige - it will go perfectly well with a number of my summer outfits). All for about eighty bucks total. So definitely a successful venture.:)
And now, before I turn in for the night, here's another installment of the A-Z meme.
Are you happy with your weight?
For the most part, yes. Ever since I managed to get rid of the superflouous 25 lbs.;) I wouldn't mind dropping a few more, but I am not iclined to torture myself over it. Keeping a healthy weight isn't so much about looks for me anymore as it is about, well... health. So as long as I am technically below the "overweight" category, I am fine.
Would you ever consider plastic surgery and if so, what for?
No, I don't think so. First of all, if I had enough money to be able to afford plastic surgery, I'd rather spend it on something else (like a trip around the world, or a retirement fund... lol). Second of all, I am not willing to put myself through any kind of surgery unless it is absolutely necessary and/or can significantly improve the quality of life. Improving looks does not fall into this category. Though I would probably give it some serious thought if someone offered me a free facelift.:P
Name three things you like about your body, and three you dislike.
I like my hands and feet, which are small and elegantly shaped (I have long toes, like Viggo...:D). I also like my boobs, which are... finally THERE, thank you very much.:P For much of my youth, I had the most terrible lack-of-boobs complex... so I can't help feeling glad that I finally grew some, LOL.
I dislike my flabby stomach and big thighs. And - very predictably, perhaps - the fact that my body is 40 years old and is starting to look, well... forty-ish.:/ Which was why I mentioned a facelift. I USED to like the shape of my face, but it is changing now, and I am not happy about that. I try to be very stoic/accepting about it, but I do have panicky moments of looking in the mirror and not recognizing the middle-aged woman on the other side. There's this little voice inside my head screaming: Wait, that's not me!... I do NOT look like that! When did this happen???... *sigh*
Of course, eating crappy food and not getting enough sleep makes the saggy face look even worse... so taking good care of myself is the only measure of control I have over the problem. Speaking of which... it's bedtime. *shuts up*
