my Internet Explorer is being a bitch :|
Mar. 3rd, 2012 10:10 pmI'm having weird issues with my browser - whenever I click on something, I get the message that the website is "not responding". Refreshing usually works, but then the next time I try to do anything, the message comes back again.:/ Or the site freezes for a minute or so. And it's been happening with a bunch of different sites, so I know it's not just one particular webpage with problems. Also, my internet connection seems perfectly fine. So I figure it must be the browser. I have Internet Explorer 9 - the latest fancy-shmancy version that is supposed to be oh-so-cool. Any ideas on why it might be acting like this?... It makes web browsing extremely frustrating - not to mention posting LJ comments and stuff like that. I am actually making this entry as a test, to see if I am able to post under the circumstances. If it comes through, I'll try to do another one...

Date: 2012-03-17 11:32 am (UTC)Firefox has all sorts of cool ad-ons you can use. I use Invisible Hand and when I shop online, it runs silently and unseen in the background and almost instantly shows me what site has the best price on any item I am looking at. When you shop, it puts a banner below the web address with the best price on the internet and a link.
I also use McAfee's free version of Site Advisor as an add-on. When you do a Google search, each site in the results has either a green check or red or yellow "X" nest to it to tell you whether the site is safe to visit. I have lots more add-ons that do all sorts of things.
Jump in and get your feet wet with Firefox. Ask for help if you need it. I was a die-hard IE user but love Firefox now. It's a pretty easy program. i also use Thunderbird, Mozilla's email program. All the above are freebies.
