I'm always of the opinion that Real Life comes first
That may be so, but I don't really have much of a "Real Life" to speak of. I have become a physical extension of my PC... LOL (which is precisely the problem, imo).
Think about your own health first and not about imagined obligations to people and communities.
It's not even so much about perceived obligations - I think I really am somehow addicted to LJ. For example, I tend to read even posts I find totally uninteresting, just because they happened to pop up on my friends page. It's some sort of compulsion - which reminds me of people who mindlessly watch TV, not even caring what's on (and, of course, I scoff at those :D). And I think I need to stop doing that.
Also, I added some new people a few months ago, and now I feel silly for not being able to keep up with them. I mean, I was the one who wanted new friends - and now I'm freaking out?... *bites nails* But we all make mistakes, I guess.:P
