Heh. I LOVED Priest. But can you imagine what went on when that movie was first played in theaters in Poland?... There were DEMONSTRATIONS against it! (mainly consisting of bigotry-ridden grannies who had never seen the film or knew anything about it, other than that it portrayed a homosexual CATHOLIC priest, which was in itself an unthinkable abomination... lol) Which of course greatly contributed to the film's popularity (some people, who otherwise wouldn't have cared either way, saw the movie just to find out what this whole big hoolabaloo was about).
And the most ironic thing about it all is that at least 50% of Catholic priests are gay, imo. Because, among other things, becoming a priest gives them a convenient excuse not to marry, in a society where there is a lot of pressure on pretty much everyone (especially in rural areas) to get married by the age of thirty. Besides, Catholic priest are very highly respected and can pretty much get away with anything - or at least that's how it used to be, before all those paedophilic scandals involving the Church that came to light in recent years.:P
Anyway... coming back to the subject of gay movies - have you seen Aimee & Jaguar? Because if you haven't, you must. I seriously worship this film, and cry every time I see it. *sigh*
