The company in India is only involved because it's cheaper than full staffing here, not because it's more efficient. Many companies that outsource find that quality (in goods or services) suffers but the shareholders want financial results so customers and the staff that remain must adjust to the new quality levels or find another supplier. The shareholders don't realize that operating to maximize shareholder value is not always in the best operating interest of the company in the long term. Welcome to the current economic reality. *sighs*
