Very productive day today. Thanks to the extra hour on the clock, I got up considerably earlier than I normally would on a Sunday, so instead of lazing about like I normally do, I got dressed and took a trip downtown. For more shopping. Which resulted in two new sweaters, a lovely fluffy scarf and another woolen dress (warmer and thicker than the ones I had bought before). Nothing too expensive in itself - but overall I think I need to put a damper on the spending before I wake up one day with an empty bank account.:/ So I resisted book/music shopping at Borders, where I stopped on the way for a hot chai tea latte and a warm apple tart (my sister used to work at that particular Borders store, and I remember the cafe used to also sell soups & sandwiches back in the day; but now it only has pastries to go with the drinks, so the apple tart was the closest thing to a "meal" I was able to get there... lol). Anyway... the weather was incredibly gorgeous for November: blue skies, bright sun, gentle breeze and a temperature mild enough to feel perfectly comfortable in a fleece-lined windbreaker. No scarf, no gloves, no heavy boots, no pantyhose under my jeans. And I wasn't cold at all. I know I probably sound silly, but I honestly can't recall the last time I actually ENJOYED being outside in November. O_O Here in Chicago, it's usually all doom and gloom and a freezing mudbath throughout the month. So today felt amazing. I took public transportation, since I hate driving downtown, and the walk to the bus stop was sheer delight. So was the shopping.:) Even if most of the clothes I tried on looked much better on the hanger than they did on me. *sigh* But, to look on the bright side, that means I spent much less money than I would have otherwise, so yeah. It's all good.:P

When I got back home around 6 p.m. (which would have been seven if not for the time change), I still had cooking to do. So now I'm beat, and will go to bed soon. I have this brilliant plan, you see, according to which I am going to try to go to bed around 11 p.m. instead of midnight, so that getting up at seven in the morning actually feels like I had slept in till eight. I wonder how long I'll manage to keep it up this time (it's the same brilliant plan I have every year when we switch back from "daylight savings" - pity it never lasts more than a week :D).

I have been to Chicago in November and I couldn't breathe for the cold and the wind. It sounds like it was a beautiful day, it's like that here at the moment too.

Just wait for the weather to realize what time of year it is and act accordingly, LOL. All my positive energy will be gone in a blink with the first gust of harsh November winds...;)

I have just about decided - for really the Very First Time of my life; - that I am going to Like Novembers to come and that Autumns aren´t that bad. Yep. I may have freaked out entirely too...
