floatingleaf: (croissant)

Anyone still remember that? It went around a few months ago. I don't know anyone who actually finished the whole thing... but I totally will. Like, in another year or so.:P Maybe. Anyway... because I am sluggish from TOO MUCH FOOD and have nothing relevant to say otherwise, I offer you the next installment.:)

Breakfast: a small bowl of plain Quaker grits with skim milk and a spoonful of jam for flavor. Which is my regular breakfast thing. And, of course, a cup of strong, hot Earl Grey tea with lemon & honey (an obligatory start to the day, regardless of the season).

Mid-morning snack (or "second breakfast", if you please): cookies. Which is NOT my regular thing. Except a coworker brought a box of her own, homemade cookies for everyone else on the team this morning. So it would have been rude not to try them, right?...;) Right. So I had at least five or seven, with another mug of strong, black tea to wash the sugar down.

Late morning snack (or "elevensies", to stick to hobbit terminology): some more cookies, and a banana.

Lunch: homemade parmesan chicken. With couscous and mushrooms and fresh parsley and a LOT of cheese. Mmmmm, cheese. Oh, and a mug of AriZona Mandarin Orange green tea, with ginseng and honey jasmine. Which is quite possibly my favorite tea in the world right now. I could drink buckets of it. BUCKETS, I tell you.

Normally, the next item on schedule would be an afternoon snack - but because I left work early to meet friends at a restaurant, we skip right on to dinner. It was a Mexican place, so there were chips and salsa, and then a tiny bowl of chicken soup. And then a massive burrito that could probably feed an army (*burp*). More than half of said burrito is currently in my fridge in a styrofoam take-out box, btw - but I still feel incredibly stuffed. I should have ordered something lighter... but nevermind. It was a very cost-effective meal, I suppose.;) And the best thing about it, flavor-wise, was the guacamole - too bad they only gave me about a spoonful of it.:/ I wish I could have a margarita or something... but I am a Responsible Adult Who Has to Drive Herself Home, so yeah. No alcoholic drinks for me.:/ I had a glass of horchata, or rice water, instead - which was surprisingly good (I don't think I'd ever tried it before). Probably because it tasted kind of like a White Russian, minus the alcohol.:P

And that's it. I got home about four hours ago, and I still can't look at food. Which, for me, isn't typical at all - as you might have figured, judging by the first half of the day.;) I just had another mug of mandarin-flavored green tea, and now I'm all lethargic and ready for bed. Nancy's famous cookies will have to wait to be sampled tomorrow.:) (If you've ever met the one & only Namarie120 around the holidays, you know all about her cookie-gifting tradition.:D)
