Well, it seems this is another Viggo Adoration Week for me. I just got The Passion of Darkly Noon from Amazon, as well as Vanishing Point and Salvation from antisoshal. Yes. Vanishing Point. I wanted that movie so badly, because I knew he played the lead in it... but still had no idea it would be as wonderful as it is. It made me laugh and cry and bite my nails and gasp in pure delight and just dissolve into a happy puddle. Even though I know that the story itself is quite cheesy on some level, and even though the adored wife for whom our hero constantly puts himself in mortal danger is played by one of the blandest blondes I have ever seen. What the hell does it matter, I ask? Just imagine young, gorgeous Viggo driving at 200 mph, day or night, no food, no rest and no regard whatsoever for the police, FBI and what not chasing him across the country - just to be by your side when you need him. Now ain't that quite overwhelming??? Well yeah. It is. I simply ADORE this movie, and I intend to watch it over and over, until I know it by heart - and then some more. Just like The Indian Runner. Or American Yakuza - another absolute favorite that I love more and more each time, just for the sweet loyal hero that he is...

Anyway. Darkly Noon is just as weird as I expected, and not as good as The Reflecting Skin (which, I decided after seeing it one or two more times - all of it, not just the "Viggo parts";) -is a masterpiece). Still, interesting enough. I didn't like Brendan Fraser, though. He was annoying. Even if that's how he was supposed to be - I just didn't like him. But I liked Ashley Judd. She was very good. And Viggo... well, he was just Viggo. As perfectly natural as ever. Tons of that easy, calm, effortless charm he exudes, especially when he is all rugged, blond and unshaved. Mmmmmmm... Viggo the true Viking.;) Proven to cause hormonal reactions of a quite dangerous intensity. And all the snogging, cuddling and tumbling around with Ashley... just delicious. I wish there was more.....

Oh well. I guess I got just a little carried away (so what's new, LOL). As for Salvation, the movie is rather silly, but Viggo saves it from being total crap by shamelessly mocking his own creepy character. He can be really funny if he wants to. Or is it just me? Just totally and helplessly in love, no matter what he looks like or what he does? Well, hell, maybe. I don't really know any more. Whatever...

Hey! I love this post. There are so many films I want to see with Viggo.
...I will ask you shamelessly: If I find the DVDs in the US when I go in November, what top three would you recommend me?

Wow!!! I am so happy you answered to my post!:)
Top three... hmm. I could give you top seven, or ten, or... well. OK. Chosing only from the ones that are more easily available, I would recommend "The Indian Runner", "A Walk on the Moon" and "A Perfect Murder". Which is basically the "standard" top three most people would recommend, I think. By the way, I don't really like "A Perfect Murder" so much as a whole, but Viggo is simply amazing. And you can buy this DVD at most book/music/DVD stores. "A Walk on the Moon" is a little harder to find in stores, but they have it at most video rentals. As for "The Indian Runner", I admit I had to order it from amazon.com, but well - for any true Viggo lover, this one is simply a must (and not necessarily for the reason you think, if you know what I mean - surely you have seen the famous screencaps;))).
As for other movies I absolutely love, like "Vanishing Point" or "Reflecting Skin", I'm afraid the only way to get them is from antisoshal.com. They are old ones that have never been officially released on DVD, and this guy is converting tapes on his own and selling them through the internet. Smart bastard, isn't he?;) And good for him, since no one else seems to have been clever enough to notice that these movies are in high demand...
And now, to change the topic a little bit: your fanfiction makes me really hot.;) I know I'm bad and usually don't take the time to leave a comment, but I keep reading and waiting for more. I especially like "Envy" - the erotic tension between our lovely heroes is positively killing me every time. It is so tangible... you can just FEEL them aching for each other. Please ease their suffering, or I'm going to have a heart attack...;))
OK. That was a pretty lenghty reply. I hope you don't mind. Now I'm off to watch "Vanishing Point" again...
*scurries away with a blissful sigh*

Oh! Thank you so much for this answer I enjoyed every word of it so please don't excuse yourself.

...the copying guyi on antisoshal.com seems to be v smart indeed- hm, ok. A fine piece of info, there!

...must be careful though and watch my heart so I don't get a Viggo overload. Better take it slowly. Yes I have seen the screencaps. BTW- is that moon tattoo Viggo's own (I have seen it in another film cap) or is it painted on?

Thanks for fb on the sins and my fiction, love!
*hugs you thanks*

Hee hee, I know very well what you mean about taking it slowly. I'm having a bit of an overload myself right now, so I decided to take a little break before I order anything else (there are actually still a few Viggo movies at amazon and antisoshal that I haven't bought yet, by the way;))...
I have no idea about the tattoo - don't know him that well, lol. But I think I read somewhere that it was real.
Take care and indulge your wicked muses,
Hugs,
