OK, so yesterday was my birthday. And it was a fun day indeed.

First thing in the morning, I was summoned to my boss's office, which scared me to no end. I was positive he was going to reprimand me, either for always being late - as well as leaving early - or for spending too much time online during working hours. It was not about that, however. It was some routine evaluation thing, and essentially I was praised for doing a good job. The only negative remark he had was that I could show more initiative or "display more of a leadership role". I almost snorted at that. Me and a leadership role? Come on. I am a Pisces, man. I don't even know what the word "leadership" means (I didn't tell him that, though).

Anyway, after that reassuring little talk I spent most of the day joyfully surfing my flist and answering private email. Then, after getting home from work, I had a long, crazy and giggly phone conversation with a friend, while at the same time posting some equally crazy LJ comments. The mood I was in could only be described as insane.

Then, late in the evening, I went to my parents' place and was positively shocked by the huge bag of birthday gifts waiting for me on the kitchen table. Now, my parents have clearly defined roles in the gift department. My mother usually gets me clothes that don't fit or kitchen utensils that I never use. My father, on the other hand, buys various funny technical gadgets (that I never use either), as well as CDs and DVDs (which, surprisingly enough, work for me sometimes). Last Christmas, for reasons unfathomable, he gave me Harry Potter (not even the first part, btw). So guess which movie he bought me now?

Yeah, this is the joke of the season. He bought me Troy. And of course he's totally clueless about the whole Viggo/Orlando thing. I doubt he even knows who Orlando is, or that Paris and Legolas were played by the same person. In all probability, the only name from the cast that sounds familiar to him is Brad Pitt.

So I hid my highly amused snort while thanking him for the gift. And yeah, I had gone to a theater to see that movie, but I wasn't planning on buying it. I'm not really an Orli girl.;) (or a Brad girl, or Bean girl, for that matter - not to mention Eric, who isn't my type at all) But now, since I have it, it would seem highly ungrateful not to see it again.;P Or at least watch the special features. And maybe perv on some people... just a little.;D (Did I say perv??? No, that wasn't me. And I definitely didn't mean Orlando. How could I? I only like him because he is Viggo's boy. Damn, all that slash is causing serious damage to my brain already...)

Yeah. Well. Ummm. That is all.

*clears throat*

Declares with solemn voice:
You are not alone!
I have written two NZ firsttimers and in both of them I made Orlando just a little too responsible for my liking. lol all to save Viggo from being pictured as a dirty old bugger.

I have the perfect, perfect pic and I plan to post it this evening, but I have sworn to myslelf not to go to gj before I have sent L9 to beta reader. If you feel like it, stop by tomorrow or later. The bday post is there too but it is locked because the discussion turned V/O and I like to keep that under a lid =)

I have taken all my RPS off the net but I'll keep them open for you for a few days or so, feel free to read, you do not have to comment. Absolutely not, do so only if you are inspired.

The first one is the second ever RPS fic I wrote and my first that was not an AU, it is called We've left shore somehow
http://www.livejournal.com/users/romis_fics/1022.html
The second one is a later RPS that I wrote after my views of V/O changed. As you perhaps know (if you have read the long discussions at gj) my view has changed slightly yet again, but that is another story. It is called "Then I came to love you" and it comes in two posts;

You need to be logged in to be able to read. I hope you enjoy them.
Love on you, baby, and happy birthday again. <333

Thank you so much Romi. I haven't had time to read yet, but I will over the next few days. It's been a hectic weekend, lol.

Love on you as well. <33333
