floatingleaf | a new A/L drabble!

I wasn't even going to post anything today - but my muses quite unexpectedly decided to grace me with a drabble.;) Which was a really nice break from struggling with some longer texts that aren't coming along all too well.:/ And since this drabble was practically visited upon me within the last 20 minutes or so, I decided to go with the flow and post it right away.:) Why not? *grins from ear to ear*

Disclaimer: This is just my interpretation of a scene from a movie, and I'm very deliberately straying from the generally assumed intentions of its creators.;P
A/N: I know that this particular scene has been done to death all over the fandom... but I couldn't resist. After all, there's a reason for its popularity - and who am I to say we've had enough? ;P

"Le abdollen."

I stop dead in my tracks at the sound of this familiar voice. His face is radiant, more so than ever before, and my breath catches in my throat. Then he frowns slightly, taking in my undeniably ragged appearance.

"You look terrible", he states, relief and concern warring over his expression.

I grin at him, unable to hide the dizzy feeling of happiness at seeing him uninjured and as beautiful as ever, fussing over me - and he grins back, unguarded, open, a blinding, eternal sunrise reflected in his eyes.

Then I feel his hand touch mine. I clasp my fingers around his without thinking, cherishing the contact. Only then do I realize that he is pressing something into my open palm. He pulls back slowly, reluctantly, his eyes never leaving mine - though now there is an almost imperceptible tinge of sadness within their depths.

I look down into my hand. It's the Evenstar pendant. He has found it, and now he is returning it to me. Is he really giving me back my hope - or taking it away from me forever?

"Hannon le", I whisper thickly, and there is more behind the words than he will ever know.
