Impressive, eh? After checking out all the disorder definitions, and realizing how many of them sound totally like me, I begin to wonder how on earth I manage to function within society at all... *heavy sigh*

Just a few random and inacurate quotes:

- feels extremely anxious in social situations (check);

- tends to choose jobs that require little social contact (check; when I see an ad that says "customer service" or any variation thereof, I skip it like I got burned);

- gets lost in the details, totally missing the big picture (check);

- tends to stay in abusive relationships (check!... oh okay, only one, but it was more than enough);

- craves social relationships, but doesn't feel adequate to obtain them (check, check, check; either that, or see above; not that I felt adequate in THAT one either, btw).

Nothing like an innocent little quiz to lift your spirits.;) No, I'm just kidding, really. I know it's not that bad. I really do. It can't be that bad. Not any more. Right? *bites nails*

Poland. I only moved to the States less than four years ago. I don't know why I thought you knew... I never made a secret of it in this journal - but never flaunted it much either, I guess.;)

I'm neither proud nor ashamed of the fact, and I have rather ambivalent feelings towards the whole concept of patriotism... (it's too often confused with nationalism - not only here in the States, unfortunately - and I'd rather have nothing to do with that, thank you very much *shudders*)

Well, look at that! I didn't realize ou were not born here. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, all of us being human (more or less, ha!) it's just one of those interesting things, you know?

I agree with your assessment on the patriotism issue. IMO its a major cause of strife more than anything else, as well as nearly always ringing a false, hollow note. I see nothing wrong with loving the place that one is from, but that should be separated from the idea that said place is somehow perfect because you love it.

And of course, I am not making much sense!

You know, the coolest thing about LJ is that you start to really see that no matter where people are from and no matter where they live, we all have way more in common than most governments would ever have us believe.

You are making a lot of sense to me.:) I do love my country, even though it's very far from perfect, quite messed up economically and ruled by scary right-wing rednecks at the moment.:(

And LJ totally rocks, for the very reason you mentioned. It's like an international organization, Friends Without Borders, or something.;)

we all have way more in common than most governments would ever have us believe

I think Viggo once said something like that in one of his interviews. Oh well... great minds think alike, I guess.;D
