Yay yay yay yay!!! There's a whole LOAD of additional footage on the HoV DVD, including various instances of Viggo goofing around like the demented loon that he is.;P God, I LOOOVE this guy (I know this is yesterday's news for anyone reading this journal, but bear with me, please...;). And he seems to have found a truly kindred spirit in David Cronenberg, who is also a deeply disturbed individual in his own right.:P There's this delightful spark of insanity when they look at each other... LOL. But I guess maniacal laughter is the only way to distance yourself while filming such dark, violent stuff. And Viggo should know - he was in Texas Chainsaw Massacre, after all (not even Cronenberg can top that, as far as grossness goes... lol). There isn't much left in the moviemaking business that could possibly unfaze him, I should think. And it is somehow grotesquely hilarious to watch "the making" of all those gory scenes. To see the actors, drenched in fake blood, grinning crazily at each other.:D I always liked watching "behind the scenes" footage of any movie I rented; and since I discovered Viggo, it's become an obsession. It's a delight to see him work, to actually observe the process - not just the final result. And it's an even greater delight to see him interact with people. He may be an introvert, but he's so open, so kind, so receptive and full of positive energy it doesn't seem possible for anyone to dislike him. Especially when he flashes that happy-little-boy smile...

OK. End of hormonally-induced outburst.;) Now onto more trivial matters. I have finally received the debit card I applied for some weeks ago. Yay!!! Can't wait to see if I can actually use it to order stuff online. That would be SUCH a relief (no more asking people for help every time I want a book/movie/CD that isn't available in a local store... lol). *eagerly rubs hands together*

And the Department of Employment Security is going to pay me almost $300 per week. I can totally live on that (and that's why my mother should stop telling me to apply for SALES positions, for fuck's sake - but being my mother, she obviously has no idea what kind of work matches my personality... *sigh*). My last job paid me slightly above $400. And I haven't even touched my severance payment yet...

(Green with envy): Over here in Germany HoV is still not out on DVD. It will hopefully get out next weerk, although Amazon.de hasn't an offer even in preview. I could buy it next week in suisse, though.

Why is it that the movies I most adore come out on DVD always the latest? (grumble).

I hope for you that you find new and well paid employment, soon!

Cheers, Aislynn

Cheers!

I hope you can get your copy of the movie soon.:) And btw, the movies I most adore are usually extremely hard to get, especially without a credit card... *sigh*

oh, me too - it's the best! i always am happy to watch a movie that i've already seen with a friend who has not yet seen it, as well. i love to watch their reactions. i love to watch all the "making of" types of productions, too. not sure why!

Looks like we have a lot in common.:) Often I'd much rather watch something I know and love with someone who hasn't seen it yet, than something new to me that I am not sure would be my cup of tea... lol. And I am famous for forcing people to watch old Viggo movies with me...:P

Indian Runner! And not for the reason you think... LOL. It's actually a good, ambitious movie, in my opinion. Viggo being mostly naked in it is just a bonus.;D
