First of all, Happy St.Patrick's Day to
gairid,
miladyhawke and anyone else on my flist who might possibly admit to an Irish heritage.:)
Second of all, I am a happy bunny, because
akashaelfwitch gave me three lovely keychain trinkets as a belated birthday gift. She must have been reading my mind, because I sort of hated my old keychain and was thinking about geting a new one... plus, she chose some of my favorite pics to grace the little plastic squares: one of a deliciously moody and scruffy Aragorn, one of Legolas during the coronation scene, and one classy black&white image of Viggo. Wow. I didn't even know this kind of stuff was available to order online... lol. Shows how little experience I have with online shopping. Which is probably good for my wallet... *snort*
Third of all, I feel like I need another life to keep up with all the fiction that gets posted daily on my flist or sent to my inbox from the Yahoo groups I belong to. I would honestly love to read it all - or at least about 70% of it - but there is simply no way I can do that, while simultaneously trying to actually find time for anything else. It is beyond me. So I keep getting more and more behind, which is incredibly frustrating. I know I can save the fics and read them later, they won't go anywhere etc. - but I'm afraid that if I skip something with the intention to get back to it later, it will simply never happen. Because there is new stuff posted every day, and I lose track of the stories with long time periods between chapters... Besides, if I were to read non-chronologically, I would be completely at a loss where to start.;) Of course I do have my favorite authors... but most of them seem to be quite prolific, and even if I chose to read only "the best", I would still be in trouble.:) So yeah. Forget about me giving systematic feedback, or actually trying to write something of my own. NO TIME. If additional 12 hours were added to each day, I just might manage (or not - because then probably more stuff would get posted too ;). As it is, I'm getting more and more picky about who and what I read - just because I am mortal. I honestly don't know how some people manage to read, write, work AND have a social/family life at the same time. It will forever remain a mystery to me... *deep sigh*

Date: 2006-03-19 07:02 pm (UTC)And well, there are enough ads on the various internet job sites to keep me busy browsing and applying, but there are also enough candidates for each and every position to not get overexcited about it.:/ It seems the most likely way to get hired is to find a temporary assignment through an agency - which is better than nothing, I guess (at least it gives you something to add to your resume). Btw, I will probably (if everything works out) have another interview for such an assignment next week.
*hugs you back*
