Work was kinda crazy today. For the first time since I started, I felt like the pace was getting a bit too much. I even said to one of the girls something to the effect of "so, um, looks like the busy season has officially started" - and she just gave me this odd look before replying: "Oh nooooo, this isn't even the beginning!..." Well... okaaay. *gulps*
Apparently, I had no slightest clue what I was getting into. *bites nails*
On a happier note, I just got approved for an actual, REAL credit card, from a reliable financial institution (Alliant Credit Union, introduced and recommended by our Human Resources manager during my orientation for the new job). They're giving me the basic introductory $500 credit line, which is all I really need - just a way to finally establish some credit (I still have none). Btw, the debit card I applied for in response to some mysterious internet offer in my inbox is a worthless piece of crap. Soon after I started using it, someone actually hacked into my account and made an ATM withdrawal of over 140 bucks!... In Panama City, no less - wherever that is (I know there's one in Florida... since I am assuming the actual country of Panama would be kinda too much, wouldn't it?... I am clueless, really). Imagine that (I never once took the card outside with me, keeping it "safely" home for online purchases... *insert a smirk of profound irony here*). So, after my desperate email to customer service, the card was put on hold and they're supposedly "investigating the matter". Somehow, I have the feeling I won't get my money back. *scowls* Oh well. Whatever. A valuable lesson for the naive, I guess. I won't ever look into my bulk mail folder again. And let them keep the useless chunk of plastic on hold until it expires - I don't wanna use the shit anymore...
On a completely different note, I finally found the time to watch the lovely collection of Tori Amos videos I treated myself to a couple weeks ago. Holy crap, is that woman gorgeous!... *wistful sigh* And she totally knows how to sell herself... lol. Some of these videos are little masterpieces (and since I don't watch TV, I'd never seen most of them before). Like, for example, A Sorta Fairytale - extremely weird, and yet somehow sexy piece of experimental moviemaking, involving Adrien Brody. Or Spark. Or Pretty Good Year. Or Cornflake Girl. She just oozes sensuality and woman-power, lol (not being a classic beauty, actually - just overflowing with that special something that comes from within). Someone told me once that I looked a bit like her - and I sooo wish I really did...;P
OK. End of random post. I'm off to grab a snack and read a little bit of slash before bed.:D
