where is this going to end???;)))
Jun. 15th, 2004 09:07 pmThought it couldn't possibly get much worse, but I seem to be sinking deeper and deeper into madness on a daily basis.;) I just bought myself another "nice" gift: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. Yes, that's right. Now, one funny thing about me is that I DON'T watch horror movies. At least not the explicitly gory ones. I like psychological thrillers, mysteries and other such thought provoking stuff, even if it's really scary... just not the bloody mayhem type of thing, thanks but no thanks. I have imagination and don't need everything shown in vivid gory detail. I like READING vampire novels, yes, but that's a different thing altogether. Anyway, when I first saw "Interview with the Vampire" a couple years ago, I thought it was too bloody, which made some people (like my sister) laugh. (I did see Carrie once, but predictably enough I couldn't sleep that night, and after seeing Angel Heart I had a creepy nightmare.) So if I told anyone I had just watched the UNRATED (sic!) version of TCM III and not fainted, they probably wouldn't believe it. Somehow I don't believe it myself (though I do admit I had a hard time not throwing up my supper). Which of course does nothing to change the fact that Viggo was simply amazing. In a good way. This uncanny guy somehow manages to be charming and sexy while playing a totally sick pervert. How the hell he does that, I have no idea, but he is simply irresistible. And well... I guess ME buying that freaky movie just to see him in it is proof enough...
But that's not everything yet. I was totally enchanted by some screencaps from Daylight that I found online, so I wanted badly to rent it. They didn't have it at Blockbuster's, however, so somehow I found myself at Borders' - where they did have it - and bought it. Needless to say, I never was a Sylvester Stallone fan (never was and never will be, let's hope to God;)). So I at least hoped Viggo will be there for more than 5-10 minutes or so. Well... no such luck. As it turns out, I just paid $13 to see him in a sports equipment commercial.;) Not the craziest thing I've done, by far. I just don't quite understand why they had to kill him off before the movie really began. Even though, being the conceited prick that he was in that one, he probably deserved it.;)) Still, what a pity... He looked so damn gorgeous.....
And now, to top it all off... I rented "Crimson Tide". Yes, just another kind of movie no force on earth could possibly make me watch if he wasn't in it.;) And not so much of him either, even though he was the one who had the power to prevent nuclear war.:) But I have to admit I liked him in it... well, quite a lot - despite his horrid military haircut.;)) I just don't seem to mind anything anymore, as long as I can see him, if only for a few minutes - and that sort of freaks me out...
