Aug. 3rd, 2004 09:13 pmHurray! I got me some more Viggo to drool happily over. The Reflecting Skin and Prison. And no disappointments this time. No, not at all. On the contrary. Well, okay, so Prison is bad - so what? It's not as bad as Boiling Point, and besides, Viggo is there all through the movie, looking sinfully delicious (almost better than in Indian Runner - if that is even possible), as well as being the silent, mysterious, brave and invincible one, just like he should be.;)) So no complaints from me whatsoever. As for The Reflecting Skin, it's weird and sick all right, but also strangely beautiful (and I get very well what Viggo meant when he said that Phillip Ridley was one of the most interesting people he had worked with). And guess what? I had seen that movie. Or at least part of it. It must have been on TV in Poland, quite a few years ago, when my parents were still there - for I hardly ever turned the thing on after they left. I remember one scene very vividly - but strangely enough, it doesn't include Viggo. I didn't even realize it was an American movie (I must have missed the sequences with the flag), for I recall thinking it's probably Bergman, or something equally heavy and ambitious.;) Well, anyway... I think Viggo looks beautiful in it, even if the sleek raven hair doesn't match his complexion. It does, however, match the stark white open collar shirt and black jacket, making him look mysterious and poetic (and slightly gay, which is even better;D). I love this image, and I hereby shamelessly admit it was the main reason why I wanted to have that movie. And now I do...
I also have a new book - Coincidence of Memory. And it was a beautiful experience as well. It's hard to get inside this man's head - but all the more touching when you feel for a short moment like you have caught a glimpse into his soul...
