floatingleaf: (perfect murder 3)
I saw Brokeback Mountain yesterday. And I am very happy to announce that the gushing reviews were not an exaggeration. It is indeed a great movie: real, raw and romantic without being too sappy. As well as very honest about both the ugliness AND the beauty of living in the proverbial middle of nowhere... of being different... of being alone. It has an unforgettable atmosphere. And the actors are very convincing, making the story totally believable. So believable it's actually disturbing, because it hurts to think how many stories like this one REALLY took place. And that was the whole point of making this movie, I guess...

But of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't get lost on my way to the theatre (as well as on my way back) and miss the actual showtime I was aiming for - as a result of which I came back home past 1 a.m. and slept about 3-4 hours. So no more rambling tonight, as I am currently falling on my face.;)

Just one little happy announcement: apart from hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] akashaelfwitch on a pretty regular basis of late (mainly in bookstores... LOL), I am also going to see [livejournal.com profile] namarie120 this coming Thursday. Squeee!!! Anyone else up for coming to Chicago to meet up with me? ;) *looks around* Just don't forget to bundle up like an Eskimo... the famous Windy City winter is in full swing.:/
