it's okay

First of all, thanks to everyone who congratulated me on my new job. I was too wired to answer the comments, but I truly appreciate them. Thanks again.

Secondly, I wouldn't be myself if I hadn't made a big ado about nothing, again. The job is so ridiculously easy and undemanding that even getting my period on the first day (which OF COURSE happened) wasn't as disastrous as I had expected. In other words, I survived. And thanks to being so utterly exhausted last night, going to bed before midnight actually isn't a problem for me any more.;)

So what do I do? Oh well. I swipe documents through a scanner all day long, adjusting brightness to make sure all the data is legible... then I put them into folders, assign numbers, verify that everything matches etc. You get the drift. I am the first to admit I could probably do something a little more complicated with my IQ... but since the job is a 5-mile drive from home and gives the distinct impression of being better paid than it deserves, who am I to complain? :D

Of course, internet-browsing during work hours is out of the question at the moment (not the smartest way to make a good impression on a new job, I guess, especially that I haven't seen anyone else there do it so far - and I won't be the first to break the rules); which means I only have the precious few evening hours to try and catch up (with little success, obviously) on email and flist. So if I seem even more quiet than usual in the near future, that is the reason.

That said, I nevertheless proudly announce I have read all the Legolas_Aragorn_Slash Anniversary Challenge fics (luckily, there weren't that many ;P) and submitted my vote. Now I can't wait for the results. Not that I hope to win or anything - the competition's far too good for that, imo - but it's gonna be fun regardless, and every participant gets a banner anyway.;)

So yeah. Life is still good. Even for those who get up before 7 a.m. *shudder* Speaking of which... sweet dreams to anyone who's bored enough to actually read this, and good night.:)
