floatingleaf: (perfect murder 2)
I have been so distracted lately I only realized this afternoon that next Monday is an official company holiday. Wow. I mean, it's not an obligatory national holiday like Christmas or New Year, and not all companies are going to be closed, I think - but ours is. Just as well I found out today... lol.

As for why I have been distracted... well, I did receive my new toys. Namely, the cell phone and the iPod. It might not have been the best idea to get them both at the same time, but once I had my hands on them, there was no turning back... lol. I was swallowed up by the mysteriously chaotic world of user manuals.;P

To cut a long story short, creating playlists on iTunes just might possibly turn into a serious addiction... and I do know how to take pictures with my phone, but still haven't figured out how to send those pictures to my computer, so that I could, for example, post them here.:D

The main reason for distraction, though, has been definitely the apartment search. Which was also the main reason behind getting the cell phone in the first place. And yes, it did help considerably. Actually, I have made appointments to visit two different apartment buildings tomorrow morning (provided I locate the addresses right and make it there on time, which is never a given with me... lol). There are such beautiful pics posted online of one of them (and the interiors too) that it makes me hold my breath. It doesn't seem to make much sense to me that anyone would be renting out a place like that for less than $500 a month... but I guess I'll find out what the catch is.:P There is a $40 fee for a credit check if you fill out an application though, and they still might not accept you... so I guess I shouldn't get my hopes too high on that one. Plus, the thought of having to find parking on the city streets every day bothers me a little... not to mention the considerably longer drive to work. But that's pretty much the case with all the available rental properties I have been able to find. Somehow it's much easier - and cheaper - to get a studio in the city itself than in the suburbs. Which has its merits too, of course... but I guess I'll just stop rambling now and go to bed. Should be up by 8 a.m. tomorrow if I want to make my rounds before the rental offices close on me.:)
