and again

So, I did see the "cheap" studio rental yesterday, and it was UGLY. Dark, gloomy and very shabby overall, and the "kitchen" was basically a narrow dead-end corridor with barely enough space for a skinny person to turn around between the stove and the fridge, plus no access to natural light whatsoever, since it was squeezed in right next to the door and cut off from the rest of the apartment by the bathroom wall. Just nasty. And not really that much cheaper either. I mean, I'd rather pay $600 for a nice-looking place than $550 for an ugly one. It's not such a big difference after all. And while I don't require a lot of room, very dark and cramped spaces do make me uneasy. Small apartment - fine, but I'd rather it had more than just one single window to it, thank you very much. *shudders* So no, definitely not taking that one. Unfortunately, though, it's the ugly one that will become available in March - and if I wanted the nice one (the one I was gushing over in my previous post), I would have to take it NOW. And theoretically I am still waiting for a call back from the place I saw on Thursday (the one without a bathtub). Even though I am 99% sure it won't happen. And if I wait a few more days, the nice apartment with big windows and roomy kitchen won't be available either. *sigh* Still, I somehow think it would be too rash to just grab it and then drop the bomb on my roommate, telling her I'm moving out next week. I just don't do stuff like that. Maybe it's a big mistake on my part that I don't, but that's another story. I tell myself that the reasonable thing is to wait till the end of the week, just in case those people do call me after all... and then, if they don't, start looking again, planning to move in March. But I really, really liked that apartment... *sigh*

And now, on a completely different note: I just happened to see a trailer for a DVD of live footage + videoclips by Lacrimosa, and am now officially dead. I tried to avoid being tempted by their DVDs, since they're obviously made in Germany and therefore not playable here... but finally it happened. I clicked the link... and now I MUST have it.:D They are just sooo gorgeously goth there are no words for it. *licks lips* Tilo Wolff looks like a classic vampire master, and Anne Nurmi is the sexiest dark dominatrix I have ever seen. *orgasms* I am SOOO getting a multi-regional DVD player after I move. That is, right after I get a bed, a desk, a microwave oven, a kettle and a vacuum cleaner. And a TV set, of course, since I don't own one either. LOL. I am SO lucky I have savings. *shakes head* I will be raiding IKEA, Target, Walmart and a few other places pretty soon, hunting for lowest prices on every imaginable piece of home equipment. Such fun. *snicker* I just wish I could take a few days off work... but that's not really an option until March. And I'd rather do most of the shopping BEFORE the actual move, lest I end up stuck in an empty apartment without a pillow to lay my head on... lol. See, I can't really stop thinking about it - not even half-naked goths in black leather & lace can take my mind off it for long.:P
