There seem to be tons of stuff rolling through my head that I would love to post about, but it's not worth getting started unless I have at least five hours to spare. Which isn't very likely to happen, now or ever.:/

So, instead of deep philosophical insights (which I'm sure everyone is just dying to read, heheh), I present the next installment of the A-Z meme.

Do you enjoy cooking?

Yes. I only wish it wasn't so time-consuming - or rather, I wish I was able to devote more time to it without cutting back on my other hobbies. I wish it wasn't always either/or. I wish I could make that delicious meal AND write those LJ comments, and respond to that email someone sent me a month ago, and then STILL get seven hours of sleep before work tomorrow. Utopian, I know. *sigh* As it is, I have to plan very carefully in order to make cooking a part of my daily life - and I would have probably given up out of sheer logistic frustration if it wasn't so beneficial for my health...

If a few friends were coming over for dinner tonight, what would you cook them?

First of all, my place doesn't have enough room/chairs/kitchen utensils etc. to entertain more than one/two people at a time. Second of all, I'm not confident enough in my cooking skills to subject them without trepidation to other people's judgement. I'm used to cooking for myself, and I know what I like. Having friends over for dinner is not something I've ever done, to be honest, and the very concept sounds a little scary. Which probably tells you - in case you didn't know already - what an incorrigible social butterfly I am... *snort*

What snack foods do you always have in the house?

Bread and cheese. Yogurts. Fruit. Cereal/grits/oatmeal. Granola bars (those are usually consumed at work - but I try to stock up on healthier brands than the ones available from the office vending machines). I tend to stay away from empty calorie stuff like chips or cookies - but they do show up in my kichen cabinets every once in a while.:P

See? Such a tiny little post, and already it's almost bedtime.:/ If I had to cook tonight, I wouldn't even be able to write that much. And I have a feeling I won't be getting seven hours of sleep anyway... *sigh*

what is that, anyway? it feels like none of us have enough time anymore. life is just so fast and so busy. i know there are innumerable advantages to modern life, but sometimes i have a goofy wish to be caroline ingalls and have a difficult but simple life on the prairie in the mid-1800s. *g*

Heh. I can see what you mean. Modern life is just too much sometimes...

Not so sure I would want to move too far back in time within the "real" universe, though. I was thinking more along the lines of Middle Earth and Hobbiton.:P
