So, in addition to not receiving comment notifications (I am getting SOME, but I found at least one lengthy comment to one of my recent posts that I was never notified of, so I suspect there might be more), I am apparently not seeing some posts by mutual friends on my friends' page. Great.:/ You disappoint me, LJ. I wish I knew how to quit you... *snort*

Also, there is a kink meme going around, and I haven't done a meme in a while.;) So here goes (I am assuming this refers to what I read, not to what I write, since everyone knows I write mostly sappy fluff with a touch of very mild kink here and there...:P):

Creatures/Aliens: Well, if Elves qualify as "creatures", then yes.:) Otherwise, probably not, though it would depend on the author.

Mpreg: I'll read it if it's well written and convincing - which is pretty hard to do, imo. In general, I might enjoy a story DESPITE it being mpreg, not BECAUSE of it.;)

Slave, BDSM, D/S, S/M: Again, much depends on the author and how the topic is handled. I am intrigued by the psychological aspects of BDSM, but pretty much anything involving pain/humiliation in a sexual context is a big turn-off for me. So I will read it if the characters/plot are captivating enough, but I'm not getting much from it, excitement-wise.

Age Difference: Ha. I'm a hardcore Viggorlian. Need I say more?...:P

Bloodplay: In well-written vampire erotica - yes. Otherwise - no.

Underage (chan): I am conflicted about this one. Depending on how young the "underage" person really is, and if there are any doubts about it being consensual, it can range from very romantic and sweet to very creepy. So I don't avoid it on principle, but I'm not actively looking for it, either.

Crossdressing/Genderbender: Yes. Crossdressing is intriguing. I like androgynous people of both sexes, and am also mildly fascinated by hermaphrodites.:) Of course, some macho types look utterly ridiculous and unsexy in a dress - but then, macho types aren't my type anyway.;)

Bodyswap: I don't know. I'm not sure I've actually read any, and it's a bit difficult to get my head around the concept.:P

Dubcon/Noncon: Like with BDSM, I will read it if it's important from the plot and/or characterization standpoint; in other words, if the story as a whole is good enough to justify my having to go through that. People often write about noncon/rape to exorcise their own demons, and I can understand the therapeutic value of coming to terms with the experience through fiction. So if it's about a character's healing journey, I will clench my teeth and read it through, out of respect for the author (who is most likely working on their own healing through writing). But if it feels like it was written for gratification, it can make me feel literally sick/nauseous for days. If there is anyone on my flist who would read or write noncon for sexual gratification, I honestly DON'T WANT to know.

Tw-Incest/Selfcest: CONSENSUAL incest - yes. Twins or siblings with a relatively small age gap between them - perfectly fine. Parent/child - no, because obviously here consent is problematic. And "selfcest" sounds creepy, whatever that is.

Threesome/moresome/gangbang: Can be fun if well-written - otherwise, could get confusing.;)

Death: How is death a kink?... Of course, there can be plenty of good reasons why a character in a story has to die, but I don't see why it would be included in a kink meme. And, frankly, I don't want to. *shudder*

Watersports/scat: No. Just... no. *gags*

Crossovers: Again, depends on the author. Sometimes they work for me, sometimes they don't. For example, I once found a fic with Aragorn/Legolas and Louis/Lestat (my two favorite slash pairings ever) put together, and I just couldn't read it. Not because it was bad (I don't think it was), but because they just didn't belong in the same universe for me. *shrug*

Unhappy/wide-open endings: Not too fond of those, I admit. I like for the story to reach some sort of resolution, and the happier it sounds (within the realm of believability, of course), the better.:)

Violence/torture: No. PLEASE, no. Like with noncon, I might suffer through it if I believe the author has good reason to include it - but if it sounds like they are getting a kick out of it, my finger will automatically find the back button, and I will exercise a lot of caution before I decide to read anyting else by that particular author ever again.

Established relationship: That's a kink?... LOL. Alright, in that case, I am kinkier than I thought.:P

RPF: Oh yeah. Mostly of the LOTRiPS variety.;)

Band Fic: Wouldn't mind it, probably, if anyone actually wrote fic about any of my favorite bands.:)

AUs: OMG GIMME. GIMME right now... LOL.

In other unrelated news, I put my car up for sale on Craigslist this afternoon, and I've had four inquiries already (!). One guy came over to look at it, but after driving around the block he said he's not willing to pay me more than $500.:/ (My original price was $1,500 - now changed to $1,200.) I mean, I KNOW this car is a pile of junk, but really?... And to think my parents wanted me to list it for $2,500. Hahaha... I wish. Not going to happen. *sigh*

And now, bedtime.:(

Heheh.

Yeah, I think I stopped perceiving "age difference" as a kink long ago. I mean, if the older guy looks like Viggo, you can't really SEE the difference much, anyway.;)

And then, take Aragorn/Legolas, which gives the concept a whole new dimension.:P

exactly, exactly! so much deliciousness to tickle at one's mind... legolas looks younger, but is soooo much older... and one of my very favorite things about the two, either as a romantic pairing or as the most loyal of friends, is the tremendous mutual respect they show each other. the age thing doesn't really occur to them, either; not in any way that matters.

sheez, now i might need some delicious fps before bed tonight.

Yes, yes! Precisely. They see the strength and wisdom in each other, and anticipate each other's need for help in those areas where their skills/experience are not equal. They each give and take without resentment, and it is a beautiful relationship - whether you add the sexual component to it or not.

I hope you found some.;)
