HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
tindomerel!!! I hope you have a wonderful time tomorrow, and I wish you only good things throughout this next year of your life...
Here's my bullet-point update of the past few days:
1) I did go shopping last Sunday, and I acquired a nice new duvet (my old queen-sized one is still in good shape, but the cover is torn, and since it seems next to impossible to find European-style bedsheets in American stores, I opted instead for a new, smaller duvet that will go with the old twin-sized cover - still in good shape - that I had used before I moved out on my own). As well as a dark brown handbag, a small plain black wallet, and a large golden-brown wallet that can also be used as a very small handbag (it has a detachable shoulder strap). See, some of my old handbags/wallets are positively filthy and need to be soaked in some detergent solution if I still want to use them - but of course they may not survive the treatment, so I needed to get new ones just in case...;)
2) Yesterday I went to see the dentist. Nothing too traumatic for a start, just some x-rays (I do hate dental x-rays, since I have a strong aversion to sharp rectangular objects being pushed down my throat - but it really wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated). Apparently my gums are inflamed, so we need to take care of that first. I have two appointments for gum treatment in late September, and it's going to cost me $360. Somehow I thought that such things were going to be covered by my insurance... but I guess only regular annual cleaning is free. If you skip a few years and let your teeth or gums get in bad shape, you're gonna have to pay... *sigh*
3) Since the dental office happens to be across the street from a Sears store (which, in case you don't know, is a huge American mass merchandiser), and it was still fairly early when I got out, I popped right in and ended up buying a few more items. Including another brown handbag (the one I had bought before has a black strap, so it doesn't really coordinate very well when I am not wearing anything black; this one is all brown and also larger, so it will serve a good purpose as well), a cute bracelet and a nice black suit jacket/blazer for the office. Still no rain jacket, though, since I didn't see any that I liked. I want something really light, and they only seem to be selling heavy winterwear at this point (yes, in August; summer raincoats and such will probably become available sometime in January or thereabouts... *sigh*).
4) I just got my period, and again it was surprisingly mild. I didn't need a sick day - I only "crashed" briefly right after work tonight - and I didn't need any painkillers at all. I can only hope that this is going to become the "new normal"... but I'm not holding my breath as yet. You never know...
5) In the vampire fanfic realm, I have read everything I could find by DarkAngel, so it's become a little easier to tear myself away from the computer screen.;) (The other authors I've found are not quite as captivating.) I very much intend to keep looking and diving deeper into the fandom, but I'm trying to slow down a bit.;P In the meantime, I'm building up a suitable soundtrack for this new/old obsession. Like, for example, my Undead Mix playlist, which is a combination of the soundtrack for Queen of the Damned (thanks again for the download,
meathiel!) and a CD called Dracula - King of Vampires; A 100th Anniversary Tribute (stolen from my sister). I also seem to be branching out into neopagan folk - I just discovered Trobar de Morte (more thanks to
meathiel!), and it took my breath away.
So here's a little something for all you lovely pagan goddesses, witches and nature spirits on my flist (especially the birthday girl,
tindomerel):
Btw, I'm off tomorrow, since it's a long weekend - so I'll be sleeping in, chilling out and enjoying myself to the fullest.:P Which might possibly include more shopping as well...;D

Date: 2012-08-31 02:58 pm (UTC)Did I already recommend Omnia, Faun or Sava? *lol*
I got my period yesterday - a few days early - and only realised when I went to the toilet as there were NO cramps at all. Which is ... strange!!! Not that I'd complain!
