Well, this morning the headache was even worse, but I was determined not to let it ruin my day. So I took two Ibuprofens, and as soon as the pain subsided a bit, I had a good, filling breakfast (low blood sugar is a massive headache contributor for me) and went out shopping (to a suburban mall I haven't visited in a while, since it's a longish bus ride). And guess what? As soon as I walked into a JCPenney store, I saw the exact kind of jacket I was looking for. Almost identical to my old black one that needs replacing. And it was all of forty bucks. So my mission was accomplished within 15 minutes of arriving at the mall.:) I took the bus back home, had lunch, and then went for a walk (the weather was much better than yesterday - still humid, but with a breeze and a little bit of sun, which definitely improved my mood). With Trobar de Morte in my headphones (PERFECTION). And then, in the evening, I watched Interview with the Vampire. The funny thing is, I thought I pretty much knew this movie by heart and it could no longer affect me. Bah. How very wrong I was. It's been years since I last saw it, and I had nearly forgotten how fucking magnificent it is. So beautifully done, so well acted, so heartbreaking. It kicked me right in the gut. Lovely, fresh-faced Brad Pitt is an exquisite study in Louis angst, and Tom Cruise makes a truly wicked Lestat. And Kirsten Dunst is a freaking child prodigy. As far as I'm concerned, this film marks the absolute peak of their acting careers for all the abovementioned three. Not that I've seen everything else they've done since - far from it. It just feels like they couldn't possibly top that. So yes, I am biased.:) I don't really like Kirsten as an adult actress, and I find Tom Cruise slightly creepy since the whole scientology thing... so they are both really single-role actors for me. I do like Brad, but I never had a crush on him - he's just easy on the eyes, that's all.;) And despite being very convincing in the role, he doesn't personify the character of Louis for me (the way, for example, Viggo personifies Aragorn). No particular actor does, just like no particular actor personifies Lestat (even though, looks-wise, Stuart Townsend is slightly closer to how I see him than Tom Cruise, mainly due to the sleek androgynous sensuality he exuded in Queen of the Damned). No one is quite good enough, I'm afraid.:P Though I could probably think of a few who would have portrayed him well (one that immediately comes to mind is Heath Ledger). But my "inner vision" of Lestat and Louis is more beautiful than any mere mortal could ever be... LOL.

Yeah, I know. I am a lost case. And I need to hit the pillows, pronto, or that vicious headache I barely got rid of will be back with a vengeance...:/
