am I starting to sound like a broken record?... *bites lip*

We had another massive snowstorm last Tuesday night. So massive, in fact, that I didn't make it to work on Wednesday morning. Public transit just wasn't up to the task. *sigh* I did make it two thirds of the way there, eventually, but then was faced with the exciting prospect of waiting about an hour for the next bus... and so I hopped on the train back home instead.;P At that point, I was able to say that I had made and HONEST EFFORT, and felt no guilt about enjoying an unexpected day off.:D Which was, incidentally, a blessing, because I'd been up until about 2 a.m. the previous night. Unintentionally, of course - it's never intentional with me, I swear. It just HAPPENS. The fandom discussion on Dreamwidth was just too stimulating... LOL. burnadette_dpdl can attest to that. We both happened to be participating at the same time, seeing each other's comments pop up as we refreshed the page... and so, inevitably, at some point around midnight I received a text message telling me that we really should go to sleep.:) To which I replied that I honestly had no CLUE how it got to be so late... or something to that effect, LOL. And that I had actually meant to go to bed early that night, not having slept too well the night before. To which I received the following reply: SAME HERE EXHAUSTED WANTED TO GO TO BED EARLY AND THEN I WAS HELPLESSLY AT THE MERCY OF THIS ADDICTION.:D So yeah... we took some time discussing this obvious problem we have, and other things. And the next morning, when I got back home after the work commute fiasco and took a much needed nap, I felt so excited about having the rest of the day to myself that I ended up being quite productive... including writing a drabble, which I then posted to the VC community. Yes, I actually POSTED something I'd written in the VC fandom (I had written Louis/Lestat stuff before, just for my own, ahem, personal enjoyment... but it never got posted anywhere, so this was a debut). Inspired by a cute little piece by Burnadette, posted a few days before. I know a drabble of 200 words is not a big deal... but it does feel like I crossed some sort of threshold, and will perhaps be less unsure about writing in this particular fandom from now on...

And now, for something completely different... or not quite. Another accidental music discovery. A while ago, someone at the comm shared a fanmix made for the character of Armand - which included a song by IAMX. I had never heard of IAMX before, but the song sounded intriguing, so I checked them out. And fell head over heels for their eerie emotional ambience. And another one - my favorite song, I think. I couldn't find a video for it, this is just an image of the album cover... but I can't resist sharing anyway. I mean, I could have written those lyrics: I am terrified... I think too much... etc. *siiigh* ;)

Right, at least I was up enjoying myself, instead of just tossing & turning in a fruitless attempt to fall asleep...:P
