Just got back from visiting my parents for Easter. Went there last night, to spend more time with them, especially since my sister & brother-in-law were also going then. Mom was happy, because she likes to have everyone together for breakfast on Easter Sunday, instead of just lunch/dinner. The weather was incredibly mild, at long last; I hardly needed the jacket I brought with me just in case. We pigged out to a ridiculous degree, as usual; but I am happy to report a lack of indigestion or other unpleasant consequences so far.;) I just felt a little sluggish in the afternoon, so I took a nap. And I slept rather well last night, too - which isn't always the case when I stay at their house. Even if the pillow was too soft, which isn't good for my neck...

Luckily, I am off work tomorrow and I have my chiropractic appointment in the morning. If the weather stays nice, I might go see a movie later on (Only Lovers Left Alive). But it is supposed to rain, so I might just stay home and cook/dye my hair/catch up on teh internetz.;) Or, you know, create an AO3 account and start posting my fic there. Because I just got an invite.:) I only have 3 drabbles to put up in the VC fandom so far... but I can post some of my LOTR stuff, too. I have a few ficlets I am rather proud of, if I say so myself - and they have only been shared here, in this journal, and on two friends-locked Aragorn/Legolas slash communities so far. I don't mind if more people get to see them.:D Can you guess someone's been telling me to be more appreciative of myself?... LOL.

Speaking of which... burnadette_dpdl is visiting NOLA with her mom this weekend - and despite having warned me that she might be entirely out of touch until her return on Tuesday night, has been reporting to me directly via text/email/Skype since day one.:D So I almost feel as if I am there with her. Which is really nice - considering the fact I was a bit miffed (to put it mildly, LOL) we couldn't go together. Well... not this time.;P

Also, my mom suggested today that perhaps their plan of buying an apartment building including a flat for me isn't going to work out after all. They just haven't had any good offers within the area, and they are thinking of looking further out in the suburbs - which wouldn't be convenient for me, as far as my work commute is concerned. So she said that maybe I should just find an apartment in the city, with easy access to public transport - like I had originally planned to do - and she would still help me with the downpayment. On the one hand, this was exactly what I wanted, before they came up with that whole other plan that was supposedly so much better; but I had sort of gotten used to the idea of letting them take care of everything and just going along for the ride... and now I feel like I have to take responsibility again and actually DO something. And my lazy, complacent, anxiety-ridden side does not like that. Plus, there is still no guarantee I would actually get approved for a mortgage. So I just don't know. At any rate, I had to sign my lease agreement for another year - so it looks like I won't be moving anytime soon. I am a bit miffed about that... but oh well. I guess I'd rather NOT move yet for a while, than move into a far-out suburb and have to get a car ASAP, just because my parents decided this is what I have to do. I want my own apartment - but I don't want a car unless necessary. It is a financial burden I can do without. Especially now that my workplace is about to move closer to a train station...

Good to hear you had a nice time at your parents' - pity about the house/apartment, though. Well, looks like you really have to search for something yourself. However, if your parents help you to pay it off you should be good for a mortgage???

Not necessarily. The last time I tried to apply for a loan, I was told that my credit report was coming up blank (probably due to the fact I had changed the spelling of my name). So there might be some bureaucratic issues to fix - and of course I am not looking forward to that... *sigh*

Ahhh, I hate it when life does that kind of bait-and-switch on you, and you end up planning for one outcome only for the other to happen. Well, I hope that when the time does come to move, you find the ideal place. <3

I'm excited about you getting an AO3 account - same name as on here? :) Your fic definitely deserves to be shown off!
