As for yesterday afternoon... somehow I find myself at a loss for words. It was like meeting a celebrity to me... LOL. I think my adrenaline was running very high... and now I feel sort of drained and unbalanced. But not really surprised by it either (I have an impressive personal history of long-distance crushes, after all... *insert a sad little snort of self-mockery here, if you please*).

Anyway... she is a fascinating person, and I miss her already. *sigh*

Thank you for saying that. It made me feel better.;) I mean, I do feel that way with other LJ-friends (like you) as well, but this time it was stronger - possibly because it is not likely I will see her again anytime soon. Or possibly because she seems to largely underestimate her personal charm, as opposed to the virtual one.;) Am I making sense here?... She had told me once I would be very disappointed if I met her in "real life" - and that is possibly the biggest misrepresentation I have ever encountered... LOL. Why are we women so hard on ourselves?... Especially those among us who have such an eye for beauty, and see it everywhere except in our own physical shell.;) I will say no more. I am still recovering from the shock.:P

I think that's a very valid observation - as women we are taught to be modest and unassuming, as a result we tend to be much less secure with our appearance and abilities than men - at least in my experience. It is something I struggle with myself, and try to do what I can to reinforce my friends when I see them questioning themselves.
