I'm almost done :)

So. Time for another update. I've been insanely busy for the last few days, but now it seems I can finally slow down a bit. At least until next weekend.:P
1) Ordered furniture from the Dania store. The bookcase/desk unit I wanted was unfortunately too big (it would occupy two walls, and the longer part of it would have to fit between the corner of the room and the kitchen door, which is in the middle of the wall facing the window; so it just wasn't the right shape for my new place...:/), so I picked a smaller, regular computer desk with a lot of little shelves & drawers (including a CD rack). As well as a nice microfiber computer chair. And, of course, the sofa (or futon, as I guess I should call it). The frame isn't too wide, so it should fit over the staircase to my apartment (or so I hope... LOL). They are going to deliver everything on Friday, March 2nd. The only reason it won't happen sooner is because they only do deliveries on weekdays, and I can't really take a day off until March (after three months from the starting date of my job, which was November 27th). Now I wish I had taken off more than just the Friday... but hopefully I'll manage somehow. I have already enlisted my father's help in putting the new desk together (it will arrive in pieces). I still need to get new sheets for the futon, which will be much bigger than the twin mattress I'm sleeping on now - but I can do it this weekend.
2) Made an appointment with Comcast to have me connected on Saturday, March 3rd. So it looks like I will only be without internet for about a day (aren't I smart?... LOL). One thing I'm not sure about is whether I need a PMC card (whatever that is) to have cable internet installed, because you supposedly need one when you have a laptop; but it's also possible that it's already in there and I'm simply not aware of it (being the clueless technophobe that I am). I guess I'll have to go to BestBuy and ask someone competent to enlighten me on this matter.:P My laptop is a COMPAQ Presario 2100, btw; in case that means something to anyone who might be reading this.:D
3) Did some more shopping and cleaning, packed up some of my things (mainly summer clothes and other stuff I'm not using right now) and brought them over to the new place, tried unsuccessfully to install the new shower attachment (another task for my poor old Dad when he comes over, I guess...:P), and tested out the new microwave oven (after I carried it myself up the stairs in my new, smart, high-heeled winter shoes; because the old, comfy winter shoes got completely ruined when I stepped in a puddle of melted snow & salt during one of my recent shopping trips :/). It works!:P
I would say more, but I haven't exactly been getting too much sleep, and somehow it's late again.:/ Oh, I almost forgot: I also managed to renew my driver's license (now sporting a brand new picture that perfectly displays my recently acquired second chin :|), as well as attend a small informal gathering to celebrate a friend's birthday. I honestly don't know how I did all that in just a few days (plus work on most of them, obviously). The one thing I'm pitifully behind on is reading slash... but I trust it'll still be there for me when I can devote my full attention to it again.;D
