Dec. 30th, 2007 07:45 pmOkay. My previous post was a false alarm. When I stepped onto the scale this morning, it showed 144 lbs. Which is actually LESS than just before Christmas. So all's good. It's not actually possible to gain four pounds in two days... LOL. It was a temporary fluctuation, nothing more. Even if I still look like a Michelin when I sit down.:/ But that's a general tendency among women whose bodies tend to be more on the flabby side, I guess. Firm & toned stomachs or backs somehow don't magically appear, regardless of weight - especially not towards the age of forty... LOL. And since I never worked out hard enough to get them in the first place, I am in no position to complain about their absence. *sigh*
In other news, I am going to spend New Year's Eve by myself. Not that I had numerous party invitations, mind you; but I wasn't looking for them, and if I did get any, I would probably decline. In fact, I've decided to tell my parents that I am going to a party at a friend's house; just so that they wouldn't insist on me celebrating the New Year's Eve at home with them (did that once or twice in recent years, wasn't any fun... lol). All things considered, I'll be much more comfortable here. I can have a movie night, or a slash night, or whatever... lol. And I will not be exposed to any unnecessary, unhealthy culinary temptations.;) Like cake, for example. I did buy a bottle of strawberry White Zinfandel, though.:P (I was never a big fan of champagne; basically any drink with bubbles in it just makes me burp ;) So I can have a glass or two by way of celebration, along with a bowl of fresh strawberries. I also have a luxurious, healthy dish which I just made: swordfish steaks with tomatoes & olives. Yummy. What more do I need? Oh, and a shitload of new & old Viggo interviews saved on my hard drive. Actually, I think that's a brilliant idea for New Year's: re-watching most of the Viggo stuff I had saved since I became a fan. There's so much of it I had lost track long ago, and some of those interviews I have probably seen only once. So here we go; that would take care of a good few hours.:P Besides, I'm not planning on staying up longer than maybe 1 or 2 a.m.; I see no fun in waking up with a headache. So maybe, for the first time in my life, I will actually NOT feel exhausted or hung over on the first morning of a new year.:D I don't see how that could be a bad thing. *shrug*
And now - just because I can - a little something to help everyone stay warm on a cold winter night.:)
