I have a question today. Why would someone open a brand new LJ account and pick a username that has been deleted, while obviously trying - through her profile and posts - to make some kind of statement AGAINST the person who used to be (and still is, by many people) associated with that particular username?... I am not disputing anyone's right to make whatever statements they wish in their private journal - but couldn't she have picked a different label to campaign under? Or is it a very deliberate attempt to confuse and annoy the friends of the deleted journal?... If that's the case, then yeah, I have to admit it worked. I hope it made you happy, whoever you are. Btw, I noticed it completely by accident, going through my older posts and seeing that the link which used to be 'dead' is now active again. And now I feel like I have to check all my previous posts since probably 2004, or something like that, and edit the name wherever it appears, because obviously I wasn't referring to the person who is now being linked to my posts. I have no bloody idea who she is, and I'm not sure I even want to know. I just don't see the rhyme or reason in this particular prank. Some people at least have the integrity to put their own recognizable name under the opinions they express, you know?

Despicable. Childish. Mean-spirited to the utmost degree. That's all I have to say.

surreysmum (signing recognizable name).

I just can't help wondering what she is trying to achieve.

I mean, there's agreeing and disagreeing or not approving of someone's choices... and then there's kicking your opponent in the ribs while they're down on the ground. *cringe*

No doubt whoever did it thinks they're *awfully* clever. I'm actually thinking it would be best just to ignore it altogether - in fact, I'm half thinking I should remove my comments here, just in case the person is looking around for reaction (which so far they haven't had, no doubt much to their disappointment.

Link, please? I have not found that, yet. However, impersonating another person with malicious intent to give tat person an bad name or annoy him/her is against the TOS of live journal and can get the account deleted, Normally, the impersonated would have to complain herself, but in at least one case live journal reacted to friends doing the reporting. So... it might be possible to do that, here, too.

This is the link: [profile] namarie120.

And I don't think this person is trying to impersonate her (she did respond to one comment saying "I am not the person you are looking for"). I am at a loss what she is trying to do, other than stir up some negativity (as though we hadn't had enough). And I agree with [personal profile] surreysmum that the best policy is to just ignore it - which is what I am going to do from now on. It's not worth the effort to take the bait and speak up against her - which, in all probability and for whatever twisted reason, is exactly what she wants. *shrug*

Okay, let's ignore the little troll, then.

Yes, you're probably right. But I don't think there's need to remove your comments. This is an extremely 'low profile' journal, and I honestly doubt that anyone besides you and a few other occasional commenters is even going to notice.:)

It's an awfully mean thing to do. I am surprised someone was able to get that name so fast--names I deleted a year ago are still not available for use by others. I wonder if it was hacked? Either way, no matter what you thought about the controversy, addressing it in this way is just pathetic.

I totally agree. Looks like just a stupid, callous way to stir up a mound of shit and get some attention. Unfortunately, people are playing right into this person's hands, leaving upset comments, to which she magnanimously responds by dropping more ambiguous quotes and giving every impression of feeling superior. GAG.:[

No problem, hon. You probably wouldn't have reached me anyway, because I was under a massive phone assault from my mother.:)
