Hello and Happy New Year, everyone. I sure had fun last night. Want to know what I was doing? What had me so preoccupied that I barely noticed the stroke of midnight?... Well... I was playing with dolls. No, not my own lost and broken childhood relics, or the stunningly gorgeous and horrifically expensive Japanese ball-joint hotties that I wish I could afford. And not the sex-shop kind either.:P I spent hours entertaining myself, quietly and at no cost whatsoever, with the Candybar Doll Maker. And I didn't even need alcohol to make this fun (though I did have some, just because it seemed stupid NOT to have any on New Year's Eve... lol). Btw, my celebratory shopping for the occasion consisted of a bottle of White Zinfandel and two small pints of ice cream. So I did party, see? I had wine and a fancy dessert without needing to dress up or put myself through the torture of social interaction.:P And if anything worries me about it, it's how absolutely great it felt to spend the evening on my own. Not that I would have minded the company of one or two close, trusted friends - but those are either very far away or prefer the 'traditional' (= noisy & crowded) way of celebrating such occasions. So I really do think I picked the best option available to me under the circumstances. I am actually relieved that no one tried to talk me into going anywhere (which might have involved needlessly spending money or possibly feeling uncomfortable). I do have fond memories of New Year's Eve parties from a few years back - but I also know that it would never be the same again for me, because I am not the same person anymore. Time flies, and the river I would perhaps like to step into is long gone within the depths of the ocean. What would have felt like a depressing failure back then (celebrating the New Year by myself) is now my first conscious choice. Btw, I think it's a great metaphor for how my perception of solitude has changed over the years. But that's probably a topic for a whole another post. I didn't actually mean to be serious tonight. I meant to share the fruits of last night's embarrassing activities.;)
So, without further ado, here's a multiracial party parade.:) (I couldn't find a way of changing a doll's skin color, so I didn't make a black or a very dark-skinned doll; but I tried for some variety with facial features and other details instead)

See? I can be so easily amused sometimes it's almost disturbing.:D But that's not the end of it. Girls were generally more fun to play with than boys (due to much more variety in the hair/clothing department), but I decided to give my OTP some well-deserved recognition as well. So I made a Viggo. And an Orlando. You have no idea how challenging it was to acquire some likeness. There aren't many choices when it comes to the shape of the face, so regretfully I couldn't give Viggo a cleft chin; but I found a plaid shirt and cowboy boots for him, yay! ;P And Orli is full of holiday spirit, lol. I tried to dress him in gayer clothes, but somehow couldn't find a suitably 'Orlish' outfit - so the scarf has to do for now.:) Voila!

P.S. No need to comment. I know I qualify to be locked up. But I generally tend to stay away from other people, so my insanity is rather harmless. It has its main outlet right here, where it can be safely ignored.:P
