floatingleaf: (perfect murder 2)

A little something I stole from [profile] nitw1t:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer.

I wonder if someone will actually respond - apart from the two people who top my comment stats.:P

i'm a cynical, depressed 19 year old with MS, and have never ever had a relationship or even been kissed by a guy.

and let me see...hmm....well, why "floating leaf"?? any special significance??

I have never been kissed by a guy either...;) (which is not to say I haven't been kissed at all :D)

And "floating leaf" totally sums up my general attitude towards life. I don't really try to go in any particular direction... I just let it float, to wherever the current of events takes me. Some people might think it's a bad thing, but I have accepted that about me, and many times ended up pleasantly surprised by the outcome.;)

Also, my first choice for a username was some variation of the words "darkness", "night", "moon" or "dream" - but they all seemed already taken...:P

When I was 19, I hadn't been kissed either... and didn't actually believe it would ever happen. But it finally did.:) So, you never know... *winks*

I'm 48, I work full time, have two teenagers in / starting college, I discovered slash about two years ago and have been writing myself for about a year.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

Thanks for replying. And your question is easy: Greece. I haven't seen many places around the world, but I know Greece is my favorite anyway.;) When I first heard some Greek music as a kid, I was hypnotised - and when I finally went there, it felt like home. This may sound weird, but I actually think I might have been Greek in a previous lifetime (I have no family connections with Greece whatsoever)...

I love to read, especially mysteries. Some of my favorite mystery authors are Sue Grafton, Martha Grimes, Elizabeth George, Max Allen Collins and Sharyn McCrumb. Do you have a favorite book or author?

Oh yes, I am an avid reader. I have many favorite authors, including Mary Renault, Anne Rice, Jeanette Winterson, Sara Maitland, Amelie Nothomb... And lately I have discovered Tanith Lee. So I love dark/mysterious themes too, but most of all good, epic storytelling. As well as deep characterization and fresh, original outlooks on life, society and human nature. I love a book that makes me think, laugh and cry - in all the right places. And the same goes for fanfiction - I don't mind pure smut sometimes, but I'm waaay more gratified when it has depth.;)
